“Claims” was the wrong word…MLK was a Republican, as were most black Americans at that time (http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=16500), but what caught my attention was whether Jackson was doing anything poignant in that song at this particular time…

I haven’t seen the whole Jackson video, and I’m not sure of the meaning of the song, but “They Don’t Care About Us” isn’t new. It was originally from Michael Jackson’s “HIStory” album from 1995. Actually, there was a bit of controversy over the song for it’s allegedly anti-semitic lyrics, such as the line “Kick me, kike me, don’t you black or white me”. I believe those lyrics were rewritten for later releases of the song (original lyrics here: http://is.gd/1mB5v ).

I also find it interesting that Dr. King may have been a Republican. Interesting considering how Republicans are supposedly racists, even though Lincoln and maybe King were Republicans themselves.

The Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King’s political affiliation goes well beyond the trite and quite frankly inane ruse that is politics. It is truely an injustice for any of the party’s to indicate an rhetorical association.

A word about racism is it is clearly defined as prejudice, and the abilty to impose prejudice. Because it is a fact that America has an african-american population of roughly 12%, which clearly shows an appoximate 1% increase since 1910, most definately it is a severe inability for us all to see Americans as Americans. This is the life, the truth , and the clear and only message of Dr. King’s great legacy.
