What was that Obama said about Washington in this Drudge-linked article? Ah, yes, that these are the days that “everybody gets wee weed up”. Which just goes to show what happens when our Commander in Chief strays from his beloved teleprompter.

Anyway, Mr. Obama’s unfortunate metaphor provides an excuse to exhibit this tasteless graphic, which will clarify the impact of ObamaCare with respect to people who are already reasonably satisfied with their situation (which is most of us). Intellectual honesty compels me to concede there are a few unfortunate citizens (and non-citizens) at the low end of the scale for whom the president’s glittering cascade would represent progress. And of course there’s the “tingling down my leg” crowd that would be likewise delighted, albeit for reasons more recreational than medical.

The bottom line is choice. Obama care will diminish our choices. That is why I’m so stinking mad. My choice in health care is diminishing. Wouldn’t it be nice to say to our insurance company, “I’m taking my money elsewhere” because we are not 100% satisfied? But we can’t, we’re locked in, because businesses are mandated by government to provide health care and it’s a grab bag now as to what’s covered and what’s not. We take what we can get because what’s offered is the only plan provided by an employer…and that’s better than nothing.

There was a time when employers offered health care benefits to entice and encourage people to work for them. Now, employers are mandated to provide health benefits thus eliminating the employer’s choice in selecting the best health plan for their employees.

I want more choice not one choice. . .I want outta the pool!

Instead of all this jibber – jabber about a Federal run health insurance, which was a dumb idea day one, we should be pounding our state assemblies to lessen restrictions on health care companies. They are limiting inter-state commerce (against the constitution) which if Health Insurance companies could operate nation wide would increase competition, ie lower prices. They limit what coverage the Companies can offer, ie only super expensive plans with limited coverage allowed. The solution is not to have the Federal gov involved in creating a massive mistake but in getting the states to realise they are the problem in constricting Health Care Companies ability to provide an array of varied plans that could accomidate a wide spectrum of incomes, so those citizens whose earnings are in the lower percentiles can get affordable coverage. I’m sorry, I know this all sounds so simple and I forgot that we a dealing with politicians. Perhaps we could get people who write children’s books to help explain it to them.

An effective Alpha Dog does not need to “pee on his spot” to mark his territory every few feet. Maynard – your pool analogy was spot on. Can’t bark this loud enough…allow for a BIGGER pool of insurers NOT a single-payer plan. Competition, innovation, and yes, appropriate compensation are necessary ingredients to keep the best and brightest in the pool….and to keep the rest of us from drowning because the life guard is busy, doesn’t know how to swim very well, or the limited stash of life preservers have been doled out for the day!

Check out Ann Coulter’s latest column:
LIBERAL LIES ABOUT NATIONAL HEALTH CARE: FIRST IN A SERIES

You could fix 90 percent of the problems with health insurance by ending the federal law allowing states to ban health insurance sales across state lines.

You want to protect consumers? Do it the same way we protect consumers of dry cleaning, hamburgers and electricians: Give them the power to tell their insurance companies, “I’m taking my business elsewhere.”

Our Alpha Dog feels the need to “wee wee wee” all the way home. Woeful.
    Woof! RuBegonia

    somewhat OT, but typical me.
it looks like someone did a “type, type, type-send” again on their facebook about the lack of tort reform in the deathcare bill.
i’ll give you a hint. it starts with “S” and ends with “arah Palin”.

Count Crash, I could probably draft a one-page federal statute in a matter of a few hours that would create a genuinely national market in health insurance. Unlike a lot of BS federal law, it would be quite consistent with the Framers’ original intent of giving Congress the power to regulate interstate commerce. It would drive all costs down through a combination of a “race to the bottom” and economies of scale. It would be beneficial to pretty much everyone, the currently insured and uninsured alike. But that, of course, is not the point of ObamaCare.
