You know about the release of the Lockerbie bomber. He flew home to a hero’s welcome in Libya, as Obama voiced impotent objections.

I’m flashing back to a somewhat comparable episode that took place on Reagan’s watch. Who remembers the Achille Lauro incident? This was an Italian cruise ship in the Mediterranean that was commandeered by four PLO terrorists. They murdered a wheelchair-bound vacationing American Jew, Leon Klinghoffer, and threw his body overboard. There were the usual negotiations with the locals, and  Italy agreed to allow the hijackers to go free and fly to Tunisia aboard an Egyptian airplane. Reagan dispatched military aircraft from the carrier USS Saratoga, which intercepted the Egyptian plane and forced it to land at a NATO base in Sicily. The hijackers were taken into American custody. Reagan’s move caused tension with Italy and Egypt, but Reagan was the kind of man that stands up for America and for justice.

I can’t say whether Reagan would have snatched the Lockerbie bomber out of the sky. But if he didn’t, I’m sure he’d have a damn good reason.

We could have the bomber dude extradicted to the US and put him on trial here for murder. Somehow or another, it was decided it wasn’t worth it. I guess this administration is all about rationing justice as well as health care.

and now unlike with the PLO and libya being sued and forced to pay settlements to families involved in these incidents, the administration busies itself with protecting countries like saudi arabia, bowing to their will and protecting them from being sued. not that this wasn’t something bush was doing too-what amounts to enabling terrorists ,mass murderers.

it’s not even so much that it is compassion for the guilty rather a complete lack of compassion bordering on contempt for the innocent victims. if one thought what terrorists were doing was morally, criminally wrong, one wouldn’t do back flips to keep their money lines free and a history defying rabid tango to try and spin their objectives into peace and love . one wouldn’t insist that they not be called terrorists if you really wanted to stop them..

Forget Reagan. We need Billy Cumberland. He knew how to handle those sorry Scots back in 1746. They’re the ones to be blamed for this fiasco along with Gordon Brown. I hereby propose that nobody in the Tammy Army ever buy a drop of Scotch whiskey from now until hell freezes over. And send Gordon Brown some DVDs of bad movies that won’t run on his DVD player.

Actually it was the Egyptians who let them go, after allowing the scumbags onto their soil. The plane was forced into Sigonella, Sicily, a NATO base with a U.S. Naval Air Station, (NAS Sigonella), sharing the airfield. Unlike President Reagan that situation was way above B.O.’s “paygrade”. And hijack leader Abu Abbas’ capture in Iraq in 2003 is notable. I guess he didn’t get the memo that Saddam didn’t support international terrorists.

Gadhafi wants to pitch his tent in Englewood, NJ for the annual UN circus. I’m sure we could arrange a “welcome” for him.

Gordon Brown IS a Scot, representing the Scottish constituency of Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath in the House of Commons. Scotland used to be majority Tory, but over the past 50 years has gradually turned into a socialist basketcase, far worse even than the rest of the UK.

Brown’s government will no doubt lay all responsibility at the feet of the devolved Scottish administration in Edinburgh, but a British government that chose to could have intervened to stop this.
