Shocked In Shockoe Bottom
by Pat_S on September 30, 2009A post by Pat Angry activists gathered outside a Richmond, Virginia strip club decrying abomination! and sounding alarm over the deteriorating standards in America. Prudish church ladies? No. It was the NAACP. The self-described libertarian owner of Club Velvet, Mr. Samuel J.T. Moore III, had unfurled an Obama as The Joker banner outside his building. “This country is going to hell in a handbag,“ Moore said, “and the current administration is making things irreversibly worse.“ Mr. Moore is not the ideal champion of liberty. Moore’s club is awaiting a state Alcoholic Beverage Control hearing on alleged violations. Earlier this year Moore was convicted of three misdemeanor charges related to having sex with a minor and another woman at his apartment...

Palin’s Memoir “Going Rogue” Released Nov 17
by Tammy on September 28, 2009UPDATE: Here’s the link to Amazon. That’s right. Palin finishes memoir, ‘Going Rogue,’ out Nov. 17 Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate, has finished her memoir just four months after the book deal was announced, and the release date has been moved up from the spring to Nov. 17, her publisher said. “Governor Palin has been unbelievably conscientious and hands-on at every stage, investing herself deeply and passionately in this project,” said Jonathan Burnham, publisher of Harper. “It’s her words, her life, and it’s all there in full and fascinating detail.” Palin’s book, her first, will be 400 pages, said Burnham, who called the fall “the best possible time for a major book of this kind.”...

More Obama Youth: Schoolkids Sing Praise in 2nd Video
by Tammy on September 25, 2009And the Left went ballistic when we expressed concern about Obama and his Teacher Zombies using public schools to indoctrinate children while weaving political messages into the curriculum. Titled “Kids Obama Song,” this is the second video of children being taught to sign the praises of Dear Leader Barack. The first is still making waves (see Maynard’s post A Cult of Personality). This video consists primarily of a classroom of elementary schoolchildren being led in song about Obama, which is then weaved throughout additional political footage. (HT reader conservativeBC) Being excited about the election of someone is one thing. Children can learn about that and celebrate it with their parents. Having children sing and dance about about a politician and...

The Cult of Personality
by Maynard on September 25, 2009A post by Maynard What can we say about that video of children being taught to sing Obama’s praises in a public school? There are countless examples of Obama’s cult-like following, although this incident is particularly disturbing because it involves children that don’t know any better. It’s creepy in a way that’s almost pornographic. I’m remembering that Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, et al “Pledge” video. Here’s the whole thing (over 4 minutes!); this is the climax in which all participants pledge in unison to be “a servant to our president”, with the recitation closing on a view of the individuals morphing into a glorious head shot of Dear Leader. Elsewhere the video is filled with a potpourri of forgettable personal...

Stimulate This!
by Maynard on September 24, 2009A post by Maynard Tammy noted this article about how the government’s “stimulus” plan was in fact hiring lots of government workers. The $787 billion economic recovery package also is stimulating growth in the federal government as agencies hire thousands of workers and spend millions of dollars to oversee and implement the package, according to government records and spokesmen. Fourteen of the top federal agencies responsible for spending under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act say they’ve hired about 3,000 workers with stimulus money. That’s helped fuel the continued growth of the federal government, which increased by more than 25,000 employees, or 1.3%, since December 2008, according to the latest quarterly report. During that time, the ranks of the nation’s...
