In Hong Kong, Palin Describes Her “Common Sense Conservativism”
by Tammy on September 23, 2009UPDATE: Palin has posted an excerpt of her remarks over at her Facebook page. UPDATE 2: Conservatives4Palin have an excellent roundup of media reaction to the governor’s speech. All in all, sounds like the speech most of us hoped she would give. She slams Obama and praises Reagan and Thatcher. An excellent debut. The NYT quotes an attendee as having the impression Palin was positioning herself as more of a “libertarian or a small-c conservative.” And what was Obama doing while Sarah Palin was talking about the importance of our personal and economic freedom? He was being praised by despotic genocidal beasts Castro and Ghaddafi. Palin Addresses Asian Investors Former Governor Touches on Budget Deficit, Health Care and China HONG...

The Brave Little Toaster – Israel And The Deadline On Iran
by Pat_S on September 22, 2009A post by Pat Bill Clinton was asked about Ahmadinejad on the Today Show this morning. He said Ahmadinejad would have been toast were it not for the mullahs. He said we really don’t know whether Ahmadinejad is just playing politics or if he’s actually a crazy man who will jeopardize civilization. It’s up to President Obama and Hillary to figure it out. No thanks, I’ll put my trust in someone else to figure that out since the administration hasn’t shown much gumption for facing down thugs. I’d say Prime Minister Netanyahu figured it out already. The September deadline set for Iran to resume serious negotiations is here but they have, as Charles Krauthammer expressed it, spit in our face....

Brzezinski Says Shoot Down Iran-Bound Israeli Jets
by Maynard on September 22, 2009A post by Maynard Zbigniew Brzezinski was Jimmy Carter’s national security advisor, and a high-profile endorser of Obama. He has no post in the Administration, so he doesn’t directly craft policy and his comments aren’t official; nevertheless he’s not a man to be ignored. His recent Daily Beast interview is…odd. Brzezinski was considered a relatively “hawkish” and respected Democrat…which doesn’t quite jive with being the security advisor who was on board when Jimmy Carter threw the Shah under the bus and ushered in an era of apocalyptic Iranian terror. As is often the case with upper-echelon fools, many of Brzezinski’s comments seem carefully considered and reasonable. With respect to Russia and Iran, he notes why it’s in the Russians’ interests...

Is it just me?
by Maynard on September 19, 2009A post by Maynard Tammy had noted the First Lady’s belt looked like a hose clamp, but I found it reminiscent of a suicide belt. I wouldn’t read too much into this goofy observation; I really don’t worry overmuch about what the Washington bozos look like. But that’s the image that came to mind. Michelle’s getup looks sort of like this basic model, except with a bit more pizazz. As you can see, suicide belts are becoming quite haut fashion these days. Others have suggested that Michelle takes her cue, not from bombers, but from the amiable Marv of Sin City fame.

New, Shiny ‘Gay Section’ Under Obama Bus
by Tammy on September 19, 2009Congratulations Gay Obama Zombies! One more reason to realize that perhaps the people who keep saying they’re the ones on your side– aren’t. And maybe, just maybe, a reminder of the benefits that would exist if our vote and support had to won as opposed to taken for granted. So let’s check our Gay Rights scorecard: Clinton: Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. Defense of Marriage Act. Bush: Hmm, lots of rhetoric about the gays, but fascinatingly not one anti-gay executive order or piece of legislation in 8 years. Obama: Just now, Sept 09: Obama admin: dismiss gay couple benefits lawsuit June 09: Obama angers gays with marriage law defense With friends like these it makes this cover of the Advocate one...

Amazing What Shows Up In L.A. These Days, Part Deux
by Tammy on September 17, 2009Two pieces of good news. First, I’m usually not a big fan of graffiti but this is the sort of ‘Urban Art’ I certainly do appreciate. It’s so…real and artsy-ish. Courtesy of The Eastsider L.A. I also hear it was seen in West Hollywood, CA. You know, where all the liberal gays live. How weird. Visit Hot Air for that iPhone pic. It is rather special. And now for an update on our beloved O’Joker pics. The O’Joker poster was a march fave amongst the 9/12 Patriots. Well, sadly the original Los Angeles freeway O’Joker posters were torn down. I know, I know. But amazingly they have been replaced, and by even more! Yes, good news does multiply, even if...

No Missile Shield for Europe?
by Maynard on September 17, 2009Maynard contemplates You’ve heard the news of advances in Iranian missile and nuclear technology. George Bush had planned a missile shield to protect Europe from the growing threat, but those plans have now been shelved, apparently because of Russian objections. Meanwhile, Russia has been beefing up the Iranian military. Obama is looking very much like an appeaser; a modern Neville Chamberlain. Critics argue that Obama’s cancellation of the missile shield will empower Russia and Iran. I’m going to go out on a limb here and allow for the possibility that things are not quite as they seem, and that Obama may be acting for good reason. (Note that this is a Maynard post; Tammy and Pat may think I’m crazy.)
