On O’Reilly Tonight
by Tammy on September 17, 2009Just got back from taping the O’Reilly Factor tonight. It was interesting because I was on with radio talk show host Mike Gallagher as opposed to a mindless leftist zombie. Discussion was about Urkel’s problems and the role of talk radio. It’ll be in the first segment, right after Bill’s Talking Points. Hope you can tune in :)

Can you say “You deceive” in the House?
by Pat_S on September 16, 2009A post by Pat Isn’t it curious that there was more of a media debate about giving drivers licenses to illegals than about health care coverage? Where are the editorials and the Sunday show discussions about how mean-spirited and unfair it is to exclude illegals from health care? I would have expected to see more like this from E.J. Dionne. Wilson and Our National Character I am not at all at peace with the fact that the one issue about which a member of Congress chose to rise up and accuse our president of being a liar related to the charge that our chief executive wasn’t doing enough to build walls between illegal immigrants and health coverage. How mean-spirited will...

Is Your Toaster Racist?
by Tammy on September 16, 2009That’s what the People’s Cube wonders, as should the rest of us. It will never end until we plumb out all racism from every object, animate or not. Just like Newsweek. Exactly. What? Is Your Toaster Racist? Newsweek Provides Answers Just as the progressive community was scraping the bottom of the barrel to rationalize America’s rejection of Obama’s socialist policies and to provide plausible but untrue reasons for the 9-12 Tea Party in Washington, DC, Newsweek boosted their efforts with an effective subliminal image on this week’s cover, leaving no doubt that the debate is all about race. A picture of a white baby with large black letters over its face “Is your baby racist?” is a brave new take...

House Votes To ‘Disapprove’ of Joe Wilson
by Tammy on September 15, 2009And all of us won’t lose any sleep tonight whatsoever. We will simply continue to work on making sure our ‘disapproval’ of Democrats is felt much more distinctly next year and in 2012. House Votes to Discipline Wilson for Outburst The House of Representatives, on the heels of an impassioned and lively debate, voted Tuesday to formally admonish Rep. Joe Wilson, R-S.C., for accusing the president of lying during a joint session of Congress a week ago. The vote was 240-179. Five lawmakers voted “present.” [cowards]. Ahead of the tally, lawmakers hurled an arsenal of accusations at each other over the issue, with Republicans calling the effort a “partisan stunt” and Democrats stepping up their condemnation of Wilson’s original offense…The...

Twin Anti-Gun Bills on Gov. Schwarzenegger ‘s Desk
by Maynard on September 14, 2009This is the NRA’s latest email. Californians, please contact the governor. I don’t know about you, but regardless of the law, I intend to purchase ammunition in the future, and I refuse to be fingerprinted when I do it. I am not a criminal, and I refuse to be treated as one. And if the state declares me to be a criminal, then I refuse to be punished. Urgent: Two Anti-Gun Bills Head to Governor’s Desk in California Please Contact the Governor Today! On Friday, September 11, the California Assembly passed Assembly Bill 962 by a 44-31 vote. AB962 now joins Senate Bill 585 on the desk of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) where they await his consideration. AB962 requires individuals...

Urkel, Too Late, Calls For Help
by Tammy on September 14, 2009The last time Obama called Bill Clinton for a private meeting was after McCain chose Palin and the entire game had shifted. Obama secured the nomination in June. The story linked to above is from September 2008, 3 months later and less than 2 weeks after Palin joined the race. Urkel had no idea what to do then, and this is a sign that he is once flapping around cluelessly in deep, dangerous water. The bad news, of course, is this isn’t about the game of a campaign, it’s about the future of your family and this divine nation. The other major problem is calling Bill Clinton now is like meeting up with the fire department after your house has...

Mr. Wilson and The Menace
by Pat_S on September 13, 2009A post by Pat In this version Mr. Wilson isn’t the irascible man next door and The Menace isn’t a five-year old boy. The media’s version of Mr. Wilson and The Menace is an exuberant member of Congress named Wilson, the Menace is right-wing extremism. The two are not antagonists, they are villains coiled together in a swamp of hatred. The rancorous townhalls, talk radio and tea parties are part of this multi-headed monster. As Juan Williams puts it: It strikes me as something threatening..something angry is in the water here and it could go beyond the moment to, you know, people taking up arms, or attack. It’s extremism at work.” Mitch Albom, Detroit News Something bigger was at work....

Hillary Clinton to Resign as Sec’y of State? Not So Fast…
by Maynard on September 13, 2009A post by Maynard Tammy touched on the rumor that Hillary was considering leaving her post. Rumors mean nothing. I wouldn’t take this seriously. Out of curiosity, I looked around and found this blurb from Michael Goldfarb of the Weekly Standard: “The boss hears from two sources that Hillary Clinton is considering stepping down as Secretary of State this fall in order to run for Governor of New York.” If there were anything to this, we might eventually see the once-anticipated “Hillary vs. Rudy” election contest in an unanticipated venue. But don’t hold your breath. Anyway, setting aside the fantasies, here’s a point to keep in mind. IF the time comes when Hillary does step down, this would be a...

Rep Joe Wilson on Fox News Sunday
by Tammy on September 13, 2009Here’s the entire segment, posted over at Real Clear Politics. 74Conservative has also posted an extensive comment I think is worthy of the commentary on this situation. Wilson said he will not apologize on the House floor for yelling “you lie” to the President during his address on Wednesday night. One apology is indeed enough, in fact, IMHO, it was too much. Wilson Defends Outburst, Says He Will Not Apologize on House Floor Rep. Joe Wilson said Sunday that he will not apologize on the House floor for his outburst during President Obama’s health care address, even though Democratic leaders have threatened to formally discipline him if he does not. Wilson noted that he already apologized directly to the White...
