Bush stupid, we the American people stupid and Obama too smart for us? With President Bush I went from admiring to disliking as mostly just another typical Washington type. He is smart though, certainly far beyond the likes of Gore Vidal. Obama? Maybe but, the absolute sureness of the malignant narcissist, their unhesitating inclination to lie whenever it serves them, with the obsessive pose, as one who is superior, and in control at all times, with the sociopaths clever, superficial, chameleon like ability to strike attitudes that inspire confidence and “likability”, even sometimes the misinterpretation of their blind spots in the deficiency of normal empathy based human emotions, as confidence, frankness or “strength” or whatever, seem to combine sometimes in a “charisma” that the unwary sees as “smart.” It is the unguarded moment only, that reveals the dark glare of their anger, their hostility, their undiluted self centered ruthlessness. Like John D. MacDonald said, “heart like an empty paper bag, with clever glass eyes.”
