Lindsey Graham thinks it stinks how the health care bill is being rammed through. He’s never seen anything like it he says. Lack of transparency. Backroom deals. And he’s steaming about the Full Nelson put around the neck of the country by the Senator from Nebraska. Maybe other states should take legal action.
Such indignation. It seems most of his indignation is that Republicans are being shut out. He reminds us how he’s been so bi-partisan in his role in the Gang of 14, his advocacy for immigration and voting for Sotomayor. We know.
Graham: I do not think most believe this is ok. … I think it stinks.
Graham: My country means more to me than anything else. It is not fair for my country to do this to its fellow citizens. It is not fair to raise $518 billion in taxes when we are in the middle of a recession. It is not fair to cut Medicare by $400 million and start a new program. It is not fair to squeeze out private health care. It is not fair to give a deal to the people of Nebraska to get a vote for one person.
I will put my bi-partisan credentials up against anybody. I worked on immigration. I worked on Sotomayor. They have not reached out to Republicans.Steve: You look steamed.
Graham: We are here to run the country. We are here to help people.
Graham may never have seen anything like it with one party ramming legislation through, but the American people have seen it done by both parties working in unison. Remember how lovely it was when the Congress worked in a bi-partisan and cooperative way on the amnesty bill? Republicans and Democrats, working together, tried to ram that through—TWICE! It was rushed, negotiated secretly and changes were carefully controlled. And it was opposed by 95% of the people. Both parties saw that moment as the best chance to achieve “comprehensive immigration reform”. Now! Now! Now! Just do it! Back then the people were “the loud folks” according to Sen. Graham. Talk about steaming and stink!
And just what is this attitude,”We’re up here to run a country”? It’s because of that attitude the American people constantly have to fight off abominations like the great citizenship giveaway and taking control over our health care. Our elected officials are there to manage governance which is not the same as running the country as they evidently view their position. The people are not a mindless flock for the elites “up there” to herd around. I wonder when Graham uses the term “my country”, how exactly does he mean that? He has a curious way of looking at his role.
It is our country, the American people. All my life government and politicians were the butt of jokes. Crooks and liars. Everybody knew it. It’s no joke any more. The American people let things go too long. Politicians don’t even worry about lying any more, more often nowadays, they don’t even bother. The theft is no longer in the form of pork and personal gain. They are stealing our liberty.
The country will not be run by gangs of 12, 14, 60 or 535 plus one. The American people outnumber the smug demigods “up there”. Time to send them running…away.
SHUT UP, GOOBER! JUST SHUT THE HELL UP!
Goober Lindsey Graham should be tossed into a bottomless pit along with Ben Nelson, Joe Lieberman, Mary Landrieu, and all the other sell-outs. If only because I’m sick of seeing his face on television.
Pat S….it is “Goober Graham”…because he is a goober. Bottomline, next election cycle, he needs to go away.
Lindsey “milktoast” Graham is mad at his democrat colleagues? I say, I say…Why senator… why senator you are out of order! You know this dance is called “The DC Two-Step.” Graham looks so honorable defending those helpless citizens in his state. It is almost convincing-NOT! Lying around DC and playing foot-see with the democrats and all… Yeah, Oh, “…he’s the most eligible bachelor!” Oh, yes and “…he is such a pretty-boy,” oh yes! State run media and the dems pump him up, oh! And oh, now he grows a backbone? What?
More like insignificant and gelded senator comes to mind!
That RINO is just mad because he couldn’t form a Gang of 14 and, thus, make himself look good.
Sen. (SIN?) Graham, just shut up and vote WITH your party for once and vote AGAINST socialized medicine!
Pat_S, you captured my immediate thought: LGraham, what do you mean “… run the country”. Politicians don’t run the country, they administer governance, For the People. We the People run the country! And we do it by each of our own decisions. That’s called freedom. Now freedom is messy and the control freak bullies who don’t want you to have choices always look to take freedom away. I just heard earlier today that one part of the Senate Death Care bill states that this section of the bill can not be revised or revoked by future congresses. WOW! How’s that for freedom. Regardless of whether the entire bill or that section gets overturned, that certainly shows the fascist bully political ideals of the power-mad liberals.
Yea well Senator Mcconnell said today that we should try and find a compramise. You have got to be kidding me. These Rhrinos don’t have the courage to stand up to these anti-american liberals. This is why we need to fire them all.
Lindsay Grahamnesty needs to save his righteous indignation for a time when he is above reproach… which will be never. We need to hit the reset button and fire all these losers before we lose our Republic. Run this Lindsay: You’re Fired.
lindsay lindsay lindsay- so how is that ‘ get used to being in the minority’ rag you were spinning a few months ago working out? looks like not so well. didn’t you also opine that the health care bill was ‘dead’ in the senate when it passed the house . and now you bark and moan about saving the country that’s so precious to you?
if you truly cared about the country you would have stopped f’ing voting with liberals, tool. now that you see the citizens ready to rip congress’s throats out how butch and self righteous we’ve become. screw you. it was obvious what they were doing the second barry entered the oval office( even before it was clear what he was about)- maybe if you made more fuss early on instead of rolling over in submission like a dog you’d have more credibility.
That’s why you should never make so much effort to cross over to the evil side Lindsey. The liberal dems will never cross over to work across the aisle. How come we know that and you don’t?
“We’re up here to run a country” Um…he actually misspelled a word leaving out a critical letter. The quote should have read, “We’re up here to RUIN a country”. And doing a damn fine job of it, Linds Ol’ boy! You incompetent bunch of cretins.
