Out-effing-standing!!! I’m totally mesmerized and inspired.

Now, THAT’S the attitude of a Commander in Chief!!

Wow! Send this guy to Washington to clean things up. And no teleprompter….right from the heart.

3 Ripper December 2, 2009 at 7:50 pm

He would not be considered “a real black”.

4 Ripper December 2, 2009 at 7:50 pm

Patriotism, what a strange concept these days.

5 billbrady December 2, 2009 at 7:57 pm

HUAH ! ! ! ! ! The cadets wouldn’t have dozed through this one. The entire auditorium would have been on it’s feet.

woo hoo. That was a great call to action! If you are in a political party, check out your candidates and be prepared to run against them in primaries –even in “safe seats”. Make them fight for their seats. Make them take a public stand on the issues. Push them to answer and be accountable. Force them to spend money to defend their positions. In a safe seat you may not win outright, but you can sometimes get them to modify their positions. If nothing else you force them to spend money they didn’t plan to spend. Light a fire under them. If you are an independent, be sure to be a presence at every event and have your questions ready to challenge them, and start putting together a personal”war chest” – money you will commit to supporting your views. Donate your time, talent and tresaure to those candidates committed to taking this country back. Remember that most Americans will not exercise their right to vote, and won’t educate themselves on the issues. We saw in the past election cycle that a small percentage of votes can make the difference. A 1 to 5% edge will often change everything. Each and everyone of us needs to make a commitment to use what we have and stretch ourselves to do more. And then, we charge!!

The Colonel is a leader, no doubt about it. Makes me want to re-up (re-enlist) and I am 50 years old with a disability. Hooyah
Where was the teleprompter hidden? ha ha

Just now catching up on this week’s Tammy’s podcasts. Re: the EU’s ’suggestion’ to divide Jerusalem, here’s my suggestion: HOW ABOUT DIVIDING BERLIN INTO EAST AND WEST????? How’s THAT for an original idea? And, give East Berlin to the Muslims, so they can build their damn mosques on EVERY BLOCK!

I wonder if a person can be both a clueless dumba– AND an evil S.O.B. (same question applies to Urkel!)
What the hell are these guys thinking? Do they not know that Jerusalem WAS divided, from 1948-1967, until the city was liberated during the Six Day War? (BTW, Jerusalem is not even mentioned in the Koran.)

what has been striking to me recently- although it’s definitely not a new phenomena- is how it’s only so called conservatives who ever ever mention the word freedom in their political speeches and tracts. allen west mentions it a lot as does sarah palin which is of course why we love them. although the left and democrats in particular have always banked on ‘ liberation’ and ‘freedom’ in their rhetoric ( not of course in the implementation of any of their policies) it’s in terms of applying it to only the disenfranchised and sundry minorities- freeing them from the oppressive vast right wing that’s supposedly doing things to them and taking away their voice and ‘rights’. once they’re voted in, saving us from the tyranny particularly of republicans and the ‘religious right’, these champions of freedom never mention the word again and start rolling out legislation to imprison you for not buying health insurance and to limit the rights encoded in the constitution.

instead of setting you free from government oppression and regulation they ladle it on like it’s death wish wine sauce. liberty is all about how much you can get for yourself from other people and what you can get away with- how you can shirk the responsibilities that are part of truly being free, how you can not be responsible for your actions. when you give up those responsibilities naturally the government takes them from you- it’s the heart and soul of how true tyranny works. as dictator and apparently the real POTUS nancy pelosi stated, they can regulate and do whatever they want with health care. what she is saying is we can do what ever we want to the citizens if the USA. not a one of the congress critters operate like they have even read the constitution let alone sworn their oath of office to it- and that’s the problem.

i always love what i hear coming from allen west- this is how michael steel should sound and republicans should sound if they want to win and if they’re serious about their pledge to the constitution and the freedoms and liberties and restrictions on governance it defines.

it’s about the constitution, stupid.

20 Atomic Crusader December 3, 2009 at 3:06 pm

A complete lack of nuance.

21 CarolAnn1414 December 3, 2009 at 4:50 pm

Start donating folks-this guy needs our support now. You can bet the Pelosi/Reid crowd is taking note.

22 hagenahjohn@yahoo.com December 3, 2009 at 5:34 pm

Ditto Kissjrk, either way, Palin/West or Palin/West 2012!

23 Dave J. December 3, 2009 at 6:11 pm

I live in FL-22, and I really can’t even begin to say how proud I would be to call Allen West my Congressman. In 2010, his rematch with Ron Klein is very much winnable: this used to be a GOP district, even here in uber-Democratic Broward County.

24 proudgayconserv December 3, 2009 at 7:27 pm

LOVE it! :-)

25 Kimj7157 December 4, 2009 at 10:30 am

“You need to get your butts out there and understand it’s a fight and you better be willing to fight for this country!!”

Wow. Now THAT’S a leader and a true Patriot and not some pc pantywaist elitist wishy-washy
weak-kneed pompous ass like so many in Washington now. There is indeed hope. Bring on 2010!

26 lesbianoutsider December 4, 2009 at 12:06 pm

A very impressive speech. From the heart as well as the head. I checked out his website at: allenwestforcongress.com. This is a dedicated, tough, no-nonsense kind of guy whose life experiences and commitment to excellence and duty truly distinguish him from the ephemeral charlatans that dominate our political landscape. How absolutely refreshing.

Holy Crap! This is my new hero! (Right up there with you, Tammy sweetie.)

I can only afford about $25 but I’m going to contribute to his campaign. Sooooo glad he’s
on OUR side.

28 aliencats December 4, 2009 at 1:37 pm

Bastiat fan –I am so there with you. This is how we can reshape the repub party. Get real conservatives in and support them even if they are not in our district or state. This has to be a collective effort. My fav tea part sign so far is “shove it down our throats in 2009 and we will shove it up your (photo of dem donkey) in 2010!

Florida’s 22nd? Who holds that seat currently?

He talks the talk; I pray he walks the walk.

I’m confident his military background will give him the discipline to do so.

31 lawmom90 December 5, 2009 at 5:52 am

I think a few more Lt. Col. Allen Wests in the Congress and we are good to go! I fell madly in love with this gentleman’s patriotism and love of country.

32 Bimini December 18, 2009 at 8:45 pm

A self-made inner city success story, first generation college grad, respected retired Lieutenant Colonel who personally lead our brave young men and women into harm’s way day after day for over 20 years IN ONE CORNER and the free wheeling tax and spend, career-politician, lawyer-lobbyist, ultra wealthy, guard gated concrete walled community living, West Boca Raton resident, Ronald Klein (our current congressman) IN THE OTHER CORNER. The ‘de-Klein’ of our 22nd Congressional District is inevtiable.
