The Great Dead Whale: The Democrat Obsession with the Health Care Bill
by Pat_S on February 28, 2010A post by Pat What to do with the dead behemoth known as health insurance reform? The American people don’t want it but nothing will deter the Democrats. Not now. They pursued the great whale their whole lives. They have never been closer. If drastic measures are required, so be it. They know best and they are determined to disseminate the benefits to all. They believe you will love the results, just wait and see. Not exactly Moby Dick, but I think you’ll enjoy the symbolism. A destructive shower of stinking blubber that no self-respecting seagull will come near. Get ready for disaster.

British MEP Minces No Words About EU President
by Tammy on February 27, 2010I’m not sure, but I don’t think Nigel Farage, a member of the UK’s European Parliament, likes the EU President, a former Prime Minister of Belgium. Interestingly, in their coverage of the incident, the Times of London conveniently left out the quotes regarding Farage’s accusation that Van Rompuy was determined to turn the EU even more socialist than it is. That was the crux of his tirade, and a good and appropriate one. Yes, it was a rather scathing attack, but let’s not forget the British tradition of PM “Question Time,” where MPs regularly go after each other with contained abandon. So to speak ;) Here is the background as to why Mr. Farage would be so passionate about his...

McCain Wants FDA To Regulate Vitamins
by Tammy on February 26, 2010And herbs and minerals–really anything that keeps you from having to buy the synthetic Pharma drugs. McCain just can’t help himself–he is a Big Government Liberal ready to unleash more bureaucratic control over the minutia of our lives. In this instance, it will also help BigPharma keep some of those less expensive, more natural remedies from barging in on their profits. McCain should be ashamed of himself and admit that it’s time to retire. If he doesn’t, please Arizonans, show this dinosaur the door in August. Examiner: Alternative remedies at risk with McCain’s dietary supplement regulatory bill: 101 And Beware of McCain’s Freedom-Destroying Dietary Supplement Regulatory Bill Make no mistake–this is a money and power grab for Big Pharma. It’s...

Think You’ve Got Troubles? – ‘Man Fined In Failed Suicide’
by Pat_S on February 26, 2010A post by Pat From the Mongols to the Czars to the Commissars, life for the Slavs has been hardship and oppression. Their literature and music reflect a bleak and resigned spirit. They survive. Marriage, well that’s a challenge that may be more daunting. Ask the man from Omsk who jumped from a ninth-floor window during an argument with his wife. He thought he would escape his troubles through death. He failed. Not only did he live, but he must pay the medical bills for the 7-yr old girl he fell on. I suppose even with that, the worst is yet to come. He may have to go back home to his wife. It doesn’t say if he tried drinking...

Morris: Call Swing Congressmen On ObamaCare
by Tammy on February 26, 2010The Dems are preparing to go it alone on ObamaCare, so we still need to defeat them the old-fashioned way. Dick Morris has a list of congressmen who voted for it the first time around but now seem to have been affected by the disaster of it all and become wobbly. Morris notes: These thirty Democratic Congressmen all voted for Obamacare the first time around. But Pelosi cannot count on their votes again as Obama tries to jam the bill through using reconciliation in the Senate. These members are all vulnerable and are frightened of the voter backlash their support for Obamacare has kindled. The League of American voters is running ads in each of their districts to press them...

Sea World Will Not Kill Orca, But Won’t Free Him, Either
by Tammy on February 26, 2010As caretakers of the animals, we owe them more than barbaric sideshows. People know what whales look like. We know they can do tricks. Prepare the creature for freedom and let him go. Keeping a 12,000 lb animal like this caged up so he can amuse people is obscene. Orca to be spared in trainer’s death Trainers at SeaWorld’s Orlando park will continue working with Tilikum, the 12,000-pound killer whale that attacked and drowned one of its primary handlers in front of a horrified audience Wednesday. “We have every intention of continuing to interact with this animal, though the procedures for working with him will change,” SeaWorld wrote in its blog Thursday. SeaWorld, which opened as usual Thursday, did not...

Aftermath of Obama’s “HealthCare” Summit Mess
by Tammy on February 26, 2010A little update on the continuing aftermath of Obama’s disastrous “Health Care” summit. After kissing Obama’s ring on CNN, Gergen then notes Republicans had their “best day in years.” I’ll take that regarding the ObamaCare Disaster Summit yesterday. But, really, the best day for Republicans in years? I’d say that was more like August 29, 2008 ;) Rep. Paul Ryan had something to do with that Best Day. As Krauthammer tweeted:

British Tea Party Movement Launches on Saturday
by Tammy on February 25, 2010As Sleeps-with-a-Kennedy-every-night Schwarzeneggar noted, the Tea Party Movement is “not going anywhere”. Oh, except international :) This is nice to know on this side of the pond as our cousins on the other side have been dealing with socialist despotism for far too long. The only reason the British government hasn’t collapsed at this point is because of Margaret Thatcher‘s economic reforms. The good people in England now ready to fight no doubt know they owe this extra time to Lady Thatcher. British Tea Party Movement to launch on Saturday The inaugural British Tea Party will take place on Saturday in my home town of Brighton, and I’ll be speaking. Do try to come: here are the details. Labour has...
