Liz Cheney on Obama Admin: “Severe and Clear Incompetence”
by Tammy on February 15, 2010Thank goodness for the Cheneys, all of them, true patriots. This is a nice smack down of the obviously troubling (and increasingly bizarre) approach the Obama admin has when it comes to terrorism and protecting this nation and American lives.

Shazam! Iran is becoming a military dictatorship.
by Pat_S on February 15, 2010A post by Pat On her way to visiting Saudi Arabia, Hillary Clinton informed the world Iran is becoming a military dictatorship. Dang! Here we had such great expectations about having civilized talks to amicably settle differences on things like building nuclear weapons to kill Jews. Such a disappointing turn of affairs. This is not the kind of change we were hoping for. Now we’ll have to have some more meetings and ask China if this new development changes their minds about sanctions.

Blog Infrastructure Update Tonight
by Tammy on February 14, 2010Just a heads up as there may be a few brief down times, FYI. One of the things we’re fixing is the TAM credit card update issue. As many of you found out, if you needed to simply update some information on the credit card you used for the subscription (like update the expiration date), the system wouldn’t let you do it. That should be all fixed tonight. Also, if you want to increase your subscription from one month to the three month option, all you need to do within your subscription profile is “cancel” the existing subscription (which will then be good until the end of that one month period) and then re-subscribe at the end of the period...

Mexican Gun Control: The Bitter Irony
by Tammy on February 13, 2010An important perspective from a retired Fed who conducted several foreign missions during his career. Their View: Mexican gun control: The bitter irony We read with horror about yet another mass slaughter in our Mexican border city, Juarez, on the last day of January when 18 young persons were killed in cold blood at a festive event. This story is now being repeated all over Mexico, particularly in the northern tier of states. There is a terrible irony about the current wave of deaths occurring from out-of-control shootings, many with fully automatic weapons. The principle irony is this. To my knowledge, Mexico has the toughest gun control laws in the Western Hemisphere…in spite of extremely rigid and restrictive gun control...

Like a Rock
by Tammy on February 11, 2010From CBS of all places, one of the coziest Obama Pants ferrets around. Poll: Economy Brings Down Obama’s Job Approval Rating As the lagging economy continues to weigh on people’s minds, the American public is more disapproving than ever of President Obama’s job performance, the latest CBS News/New York Times poll finds. Mr. Obama’s job approval rating stands at 46 percent, matching his previous low from early January. As many as 45 percent of Americans disapprove of the job he is doing – his highest disapproval rating to date. More than anything, Americans are critical of how Mr. Obama is handling domestic issues like the economy… Views of the economy remain pessimistic; 83 percent of Americans think it is in...

So How’s That Burqa Thingey Workin’ Out For Ya?
by Tammy on February 11, 2010Islamist guy who thinks it’s perfectly okay for a woman to live in a potato sack is shocked, just shocked, to find out his bride looks more like Danny DeVito than Kate Winslet. Or something. Close shave for Arab diplomat groom in a hairy bride-to-be snafu An Arab ambassador escaped married life by a whisker. The diplomat had his marriage instantly annulled after he tried to kiss his veiled bride and discovered she had a beard and was cross-eyed. The unnamed groom had never seen the woman’s face because she wore a niqab throughout their entire courtship, according to reports. He freaked out after they signed the marriage contract in Dubai, canceled the reception and went right to an Islamic...

Miep Gies, Protector of Anne Frank, Has Died
by Tammy on February 11, 2010May she enjoy God’s embrace. I hope he hugs and kisses her for us. Woman Who Hid Anne Frank from Nazis, Dies at 100 The woman who risked her own life by hiding Dutch Jewish teenager Anne Frank and her family from the Nazis, Miep Gies, has died. She would have been 101 years old next month… Gies worked for Anne Frank’s father, Otto, when the Nazis invaded the Netherlands. He asked Gies to help hide his family in an empty section of the company warehouse. She and others provided food, books and companionship to the Franks while they hid for two years. Informers tipped off the Nazis, who arrested the family and shipped them off to concentration camps, where...

Temper Tantrums: The New Mental Illness
by Tammy on February 10, 2010I suppose you do have to diagnose people, including children, with something before you you can get them hooked on whatever the Pharma company drug du jour is. Revision to the bible of psychiatry, DSM, could introduce new mental disorders Children who throw too many tantrums could be diagnosed with “temper dysregulation with dysphoria.” Teenagers who are particularly eccentric might be candidates for treatment for “psychosis risk syndrome.” Men who are just way too interested in sex face being labeled as suffering from “hypersexual disorder.” These are among dozens of proposals being unveiled Wednesday by the American Psychiatric Association in the first complete revision since 1994 of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, or “DSM” — the massive...
