A very interesting piece from Andrew Malcolm at the Los Angeles Times. What do I have to say about it? Run, Baby, Run! ;)
Something to ponder for 2012: Sarah Palin’s ahead of where Obama was 30 months before his nomination
A recent Washington Post/ABC News Poll found that 30 months out from the 2012 party presidential nominations, only 71% of Americans believe that Sarah Palin is not qualified to be president.
This compares with someone named Barack Obama. At the same point in his then unannounced
campaign, 0% thought he was qualified for the Oval Office. That’s because he wasn’t even on the polling lists’ radar then.
The Illinois senator didn’t show up on the polling charts until 24 months before the 2008 elections, just two months before his official announcement in Springfield, Ill. And even then he trailed the presumptive nominee, Hillary Clinton, 29-22, as the choice for the Democratic presidential nomination…
We’ll see exactly how good she is in coming months. What is certain right now is that as good as Obama was at ultimately reaping $750 million and winning the White House, no one was paying this kind of attention — positive or negative — to him this far ahead of his 2008 nomination or election.

I’ll second that “Run, Baby, Run!” We’re going to remove McCain from the U.S. Senate here in Arizona, and replace him with a real Conservative. No more RINOs in Arizona! So there won’t be another McCain/Palin, and maybe she’ll win next time! =)
One valid reason to dislike and distrust Sarah Palin: Campaigning for John “Amnesty” McCain. Where is her integrity? No more RINOS not even pretty ones.
James, we have to acknowledge that she, and us, all owe McCain a debt of gratutude for rasing her into the national spotlight. It doesn;t change how we feel about him and needing to defeat him, but I can understand a sense of some obligation she may feel toward him. Even I do for the simple act of having chosen her when he could have chosn anyone.
Yes it was the right decision, and yes she put herself in a position to be that strong in the first place, and yes, she was the best thing about that campaign, but he was in the decision-making position and chose right. For once. I don’t begrudge her choosing to support him. I’ve noted before that no matter who campaigns for him, the people of Arizona have minds of their own and will decide whom they want. Palin supporters aren’t going to be confused and suddenly vote for McJuan. Let’s just hope the peeps in Arizona have had enough.
I was surprised at first too, that Sarah was supporting McCain. I felt it was because she respected him as a war hero, and for the service he has given his country. I believe she thinks we can all disagree, but in the end, you have to be a decent, honest person. I think she believes McCain to be that person, and he has tried to do in the Senate what HE believes is right, even if it is not. I think she really has many reasons, but also a debt of gratitude. Because without McCain would everyone be talking about her now?
Rush had an excellent point (I thought) that if she didn’t support McCain now, the media would crush her for it. They would make her a hypocrite, because he was good enough to run for the Presidency, but not for the Senate? “Was she being dishonest then, or now?” “Either way she is dishonest,” etc You can just imagine all the chatter.
I don’t think this support of McCain will hurt her. Let’s face it, none of us liked McCain, and Sarah was the bright spark in the campaign. We knew he was holding her back in what she was allowed to say and do. The cream always comes to the top, and it did with Sarah. No matter what happens, she is, and always will be, a conservative, and a class act!
Hi Tammy, you and sandyl make excellent points. Sarah no doubt feels a debt of gratitude towards McCain, and if she didn’t support McCain, the liberal press would likely portray her as “disloyal.” I like and respect Sarah Palin and may have been a bit harsh in my criticism.
Money talks .Crass but true. I am an early Sarah Palin blogger but my contributions for Arizona ‘s primary went to JD HAYWORTH.
None of http://www.sarahpac.com money will go to JD but I am in heavy to the PAC.
So sue me.
