Canada Wants To “Educate” Ann Coulter
by Tammy on March 22, 2010From the ever-still Clever Troublemakers at iOwnTheWorld. Far-right pundit Ann Coulter will be in Canada this week for “a trio of speaking engagements,” including one at the University of Ottawa. In advance of her visit, a senior official at the school sent Coulter a letter warning her to use “restraint, respect and consideration” in her remarks and telling her to review the country’s hate speech and defamation laws. In the past, Coulter has bashed Canada, saying, “They’d better hope the United States doesn’t roll over one night and crush them. They are lucky we allow them to exist on the same continent.” In response to the letter, Coulter writes, “I was hoping for a fruit basket, not a threat to...

Judge Orders Al-Qaida Conspirator Set Free
by Tammy on March 22, 2010As the Dumb-Bastard-in-Chief continues his efforts to enslave the American people, a judge has ordered an al-Qaida set free. Welcome to our world set on end–and why the conservative victory in November will be a cataclysm. Oh yes, and the world will end in 2012–for liberals as they hear the words… “President-Elect Palin.” Judge orders release of Guantanamo detainee A judge has ordered the release of a Guantanamo Bay detainee described in the 9/11 commission report as a significant al-Qaida operative who provided advice to three of the Sept. 11 hijackers. The ruling in favor of detainee Mohamedou Ould Salahi was disclosed Monday in a two-sentence court entry. U.S. District Judge James Robertson will issue a written decision at a...

America is not happy.

Krauthammer Predicts a VAT Tax
by Pat_S on March 22, 2010A post by Pat Charles Krauthammer predicts the Deficit Reduction Commission (remember the Sparrow’s belch?) will recommend a VAT tax to cover the huge hole we’ve dug with entitlements. He thinks it’s been Obama’s plan all along. The VAT tax is a favorite of socialist governments. A national sales tax. Vulture vomit. Here’s a Fortune write-up about VAT VAT Trap: The inevitable fix for the deficit It’s not an option Americans understand, or ever hear debated much. In fact, most folks probably never heard of it. And if they had, they probably wouldn’t want it, since it’s the bulwark of an economic system alien to the American model — the social democratic economies of Europe. But the sheer scale of...

CIGNA CEO: Healthcare bill will not reduce costs or insurance premiums.
by Pat_S on March 22, 2010A post by Pat The CEO of CIGNA, a giant in the health insurance industry, says it is wishful thinking that costs and premiums will go down as a result of the healthcare legislation. The legislation will actually drive costs higher. No sir, it is very carefully calculated thinking. If this abomination sticks, the insurance companies will ultimately be broken and close shop. Plan B for the insurance industry is to be promoters of good health. Good advice for us too—don’t get sick.

Palin Takes a Health Care Stand
by Tammy on March 22, 2010We’ve been waiting for her response, now here it is. In an excellent post from her Facebook page the governor makes it clear how this is not the end of the fight, but the beginning. Out-of-touch Congress Sounds Our Clarion Call to Take a Stand We’ve been reminded many times that elections have consequences. Yesterday we saw the consequence of voting for those who believe in “fundamentally transforming” America whether we want it or not. Yesterday they voted. In November, we get to vote. We won’t forget what we saw yesterday. Congress passed a bill while Americans said “no,” and thousands of everyday citizens even surrounded the Capitol Building to beg them not to do it. Has there ever been...

Putsching the People in Their Place
by Pat_S on March 22, 2010A post by Pat Is there even a word for it? Governments are usually overthrown by palace coups, invasions and insurrections. Whoa! Take it easy. I am not being seditious lest the eyes of Big Brother fall on these words. I am trying to describe what just happened to our country. America is a government of the people, by the people, for the people. We elect administrators and lawmakers to effect our will. To overthrow the American government, the power has to be taken away from the American people. The dictionary definition of putsch is– a plotted revolt or attempt to overthrow a government, esp. one that depends upon suddenness and speed Whether or not there’s a name for it...

The Monstrosity Must be Repealed
by Tammy on March 22, 2010An op-ed from Sen. Jim DeMint in USA Today. Nice to know I’m not the only one using the term ‘monstrosity.’ Opposing view: ‘It must be repealed’ This monstrosity ignores people’s will and violates the Constitution. There’s no fixing the government health care takeover Democrats forced through on Sunday. It must be repealed. After telling Americans in 2008 that they would lower spending, taxes and insurance premiums, Democrats passed a bill that breaks every promise. Using secret deals, kickbacks and carve-outs, Democratic leaders jammed through legislation to control more than one-sixth of the nation’s economy… Government bureaucrats will now dictate the terms of our health care system. Americans must purchase Washington-formulated insurance plans or pay stiff penalties, a requirement that...

Going Galt
by Tammy on March 21, 2010The Ugly American over at SondraK provides tonight’s (and forever’s) theme song. I hope everyone gets a good night’s sleep because we’ve got a lot of work to do. Roll up those sleeves Patriots, and keep that powder dry. And those Republicans? They better have a damn plan. Related Link: Wikipedia: John Galt

Deathcare Passage Open Thread
by Tammy on March 21, 2010**UPDATE 745pm PT This monstrosity has officially passed the House, 219-212.** Congress approves historic health care legislation McArdle at The Atlantic: The Future After Health Care What I hope is that the Democrats take a beating at the ballot boxand rethink their contempt for those mouth-breathing illiterates in the electorate. I hope Obama gets his wish to be a one-term president who passed health care. Not because I think I will like his opponent–I very much doubt that I will support much of anything Obama’s opponent says. But because politicians shouldn’t feel that the best route to electoral success is to lie to the voters, and then ignore them. We’re not a parliamentary democracy, and we don’t have the mechanisms,...

House Drops Demon Pass
by Tammy on March 20, 2010This can only mean Princessa Nancy has enough votes to for an up or down. It also means Democrat House members agree with Urkel–they’re doomed anyway in November, so why not go out with a bang? Obviously, this fanatical attempt to throw this nation into the socialist sewer will not stand. The only ‘legacy’ these dumb bastards are going to have is being the worst, most corrupt, and least relevant congress in our nation’s history. They will serve for something though–what we can never allow to happen again. Tammy Blog will have a live Chat Room for all readers on the main page on Sunday for this vote. I’ll post the exact time the Chat Room will be live for...
