It’s getting to the point where I can’t watch The Factor anymore!!! Or I shouldn’t. Bill keeps talking about this stupid health care bill like it’s about HEALTH CARE. Bill just can’t believe Urkel would do that to us, you know to the FOLKS. I just love Dennis Miller!! he just put everything into perspective like you do Tammy :)

    • tamcat says:

While Bill O’Reilly is a culture warrior, he is sometimes misguided. Or simply wrong. He has become among the elite. Therefore sometimes thinking like the elite. jeaneeinabottle you are so right, Dennis Miller seems to always put issues in perspective.

Great show Tammy! Loved the comparison of Bush & Palin, as well as Romney & Palin. Sarah Palin is letting us know who she is personally, very much as she did in her book. Bush never did this, he put on a face, I remember being told by fellow Republicans at that time ( as I was once a GOP Party animal) that “Jr.” was a solid conservative, the “real deal”. Mitt Romney is doing the same thing himself now. I have a feeling many others will as well, if Sarah runs (I think she will), no one will question “who” she is, they might question her policy positions at times, but her advantage is her self esteem, she doesn’t attempt to pretend. This will seperate her from a long list of primary frauds. People love this.

Go to Hillbuzz.com and read a great piece about the good Gov Palin.

Great show today, Tammy. You covered it all: China’s contribution to world terrorism, presidential cholesterol & malignant narcissism , ODeathCare, spineless Republicans, those wascally Joooz, Sarah Palin, hysterical Hollywood Idotiots, etc., etc., etc….

Marco Rubio, a real Conservative, made some excellent points on the Neil Cavuto show. For example, the people in control of the government don’t believe in the free enterprise system, and through policy, are forcing the American people to abandon it.

Rubio also commented on the secretiveness of the ODeathCare bill and the administration’s rush to ram it down We The People’s throat. He said, “…The less public scrutiny something receives, in terms of public policy, the worse the idea usually is. That’s why they’re not allowing people to fully vet it [ODeathCare].”

Mr. Rubio is right. If the godling’s DeathCare bill is sooo great for the American people, why was it hammered out behind closed doors? Even more outrageous, why does the bill exclude legislators, union thugs, and others to be excluded later?

D***n Animal Farm is what it is:
“All Animals are equal. But, some animals are more equal than others [!]“

  10. eMVeeH says:

The gang at Hillbuzz make the excellent point about how Palin is using New Media to her advantage. Instead of looking foolish and ignorant about modern communication methods like Plugs Biden [In and interview, Biden referred people to a gov't website to which he didn't have the "number."].

Palin just might be the first real politician of the early 21st century.

  11. eMVeeH says:

BTW, could Roger Ebert be part of “the rich” that Obumbler refers to in his hysterical ODeathCare rants, who can afford medical coverage?

    Mmmm kaa-ay

  12. ancientwrrior says:

A great show today Tammy. During one segment you postulated why there was not a big to do about the big earthquake in Chile, even though it was magnitudes greater than it was in Haiti. The answer is not hard to figure; the population there is NOT the same dark complexioned peoples that are in Haiti, that the liberal left love to portray as helpless and needful of their largess. Our South American brethren seem to be made of sterner stuff who can look after their own, with a government that did not collapse along with it’s infrastructure. As an aside, your cat is not the only one who sometimes feels like climbing the walls.

    • makeshifty says:

As I recall Chile decided to implement free market reforms, such as privatizing their social security. Perhaps they have a strong enough support system such that they don’t really need much international help. Good for them.

I agree with your frustration, but for a different reason. When Hurricane Katrina hit, all the focus was on the fiasco that was New Orleans, not Mississippi which actually had storm damage that was much worse. New Orleans wasn’t hit that bad. It was their levy system that was the disaster. Mississippi was strong and competent enough to handle it, ergo hardly any press coverage of the devastation in MS.

Bernie Sanders gives John McCain an uncomfortable moment asking him if the VA is socialized health care, and if he or anyone else in the Senate is advocating doing away with it.
i’m a vet and against this healthcare bill and my liberal friend says well then dont use your va because that is government run. why shouldn’t we all get same care as va. it works. how do i answer him with good ammo. the percentage of vets vs 300 million?
starting to like paul ryan alot.
    thanks
    rwh

    • tamcat says:

My husband is 110% disabled vet. Our only insurance is VA Healthcare. Your VA Dr’s can change at anytime. You cannot choose your Dr. You are processed as cattle. We know exactly how government healthcare would be. We are greatful for the care that is free, BUT, not all vets get the same treatment as we. Like vets who are not 100% disabled. Those vets are having a hell of a time. Vet’s from Iraq, Afganastan, Viet Nam, have a long way to go before they leave this world. Free is NOT always better.

    • Joel267 says:

Being in the military myself this topic comes up a lot in my circle of military and civilian friends. My take on it is yes, it is socialized. But it’s not that simple to just say “ah ha! see you do agree with socialized healthcare.” Americans have been taking care of their Veterans healthcare since before we were even a Nation. Besides the belief that it is the right thing to do for those who have defended the nation, the VA is set up to take care of injuries that are specific to veterans, from long term physical trauma to psychological problems and everything in between. To me it’s as simple as that. Nationalized healthcare and the healthcare for Veterans are not the same thing. Hope that helps :)

    • Leon says:

Military and VA medical care are a special category.
Vets who get VA care face a horrible system from time to time, depending on politics. The Vets earned whatever care they get because they incurred whatever health problem being treated, while serving the country. It’s a contractual thing I suppose. Military care is a different environment, in which illegal aliens are not creating an overhead burden, and active duty personnel cannot sue. The VA medical care is not socialized medical care, but it is government and has a bad reputation it has earned. Mixing two tankers of milk with a tanker of manure gives you three tankers of manure, not of milk. That’s what Democrat and Republican Progressives are trying to force on us, manure.

March 5, 2010 Obama speech. Clean energy and the economy.

Call me paranoid, but the Obama speech today was set before a backdrop of young people from a company named Opower. Get it? “O”bama-“O”power. Must be a coincidence, you say – and maybe so. However, I know too much about this president to think anything is pure coincidence.

After an hour of searching I discovered a few things that might interest my fellow paranoids. The Opower company was started by a couple of guys in 2007. The name that caught my attention was Alex Laskey. This fellow has quite a history of political involvement, and additionally, has been invited to the White House by President Obama. What they discussed is a mystery, but green jobs come to mind.

Well, you say. That doesn’t mean anything. Lots of people are invited to the White House. What’s that prove? Here’s a short bit from Mr. Laskey’s bio as represented on the Opower site:

    “Alex Laskey, President, Founder
As President and Founder, Alex is OPOWER’s public face, responsible for engaging utility and government partners in OPOWER’s vision and products. He is highly sought-after as a speaker at energy-related conferences and fora throughout the country and abroad. In his role as OPOWER’s President, Alex was invited to the White House to meet with President Obama and discuss innovation and job creation in the green economy.
Prior to OPOWER, Alex enjoyed a career in politics and policy serving as a campaign manager, strategist and public opinion analyst for several candidates nationwide. Alex provided strategic consulting on several statewide ballot measures for The Nature Conservancy, The Trust for Public Land, and The League of Conservation Voters. Alex has worked for the White House and on a presidential campaign.”

Now, there’s another guy in the Opower management group by the name of Dr. Robert Cialdini. Take a look at this partial bio from the same Opower Website:

    “Dr. Robert Cialdini, Chief Scientist
Professor Cialdini works exclusively with OPOWER to define, test, and optimize messaging to increase conservation and participation in residential energy conservation programs.
Extensive scholarly training in the psychology of influence, together with over 30 years of research into the subject, has earned Dr. Cialdini an international reputation as an expert in the fields of persuasion, compliance, and negotiation. Dr. Cialdini has spent much of the last decade studying conservation and efficiency.
In the field of influence and persuasion, Dr. Cialdini is the most cited social psychologist in the world today. His many books, including Influence: Science and Practice, are the fruits of years of studying the reasons that people comply with requests in business settings. Worldwide, Influence has sold over 1 million copies.
Dr. Cialdini received his Ph.D from the University of North Carolina and his post doctoral training from Columbia University. He has held Visiting Scholar Appointments at Ohio State University, the University of California, the Annenberg School of Communications, and the Graduate School of Business of Stanford University. Currently, Dr. Cialdini holds dual appointments at Arizona State University. He is a W.P. Carey Distinguished Professor of Marketing and Regents Professor of Psychology, where he has also been named Distinguished Graduate Research Professor.”

Sounds impressive, huh? Actually, the only thing that bothered me is the reference to “persuasion, compliance and negotiation.” I figure the emphasis is on “compliance.” A little bit more investigation turned up the following in a Marc Gunther blog: ( http://www.marcgunther.com )

“Eventually, by combining OPower’s data analysis with smart grid technology, utilities will be able to help people decide whether to conserve energy and save money by replacing an inefficient refrigerator, unplugging a big-screen TV or turning the air conditioning down at night. If we understood the costs of our energy consumption habits as well as we understand the costs of buying food at the supermarket, we’d consume differently.”

Putting two and two together with my growing paranoia, I’m wondering if maybe, just maybe, Obama and Opower have unstated plans for us. Could it be that if, that is once, the government gains access to our Opower data, they will actually be able to punish or reward us according to how well we comply with government mandates regarding energy use? It’s only a small step from what Opower is doing right now. Currently they send out letters to utility company customers informing them of their energy usage as it compares with others in the neighborhood. The letter shows the customer’s usage of energy and displays a “happy face” if you’re a good boy, a “neutral face” if you’re average, and a “frowning face” if you’re a bad boy. (Energy hog!)

Some customers in California complained that the frowning face reminded them of “Big Brother” and it was removed from the letter. I don’t know about you, but it reminds me of Big Brother too.

    • sandyl says:

Good research. Thanks for this information. You always have to look behind the curtain with this administration. I was never a paranoid conspiracy theorist until Obama got elected. But I think our spider senses are right where Urkel is concerned.

I think the “persuasion, compliance and negotiation” may possibly be the pressure they exert over the energy companies to regulate our energy for our homes remotely. We don’t get any choice in Obamaland. We must simply work for the state, and be happy with what they deem we require for survival. Remember we are too stupid to be allowed to think for ourselves, so they can’t punish or reward us–they simply need to control us. That quote about how we would consume energy differently if we only knew the cost of it???? I think we were all told as children to “Turn off that light when you leave the room,” etc. Using energy costs us money??? Doh! Thank you Mr. liberal for explaining that to me. See they think we are all stupid.

They want to crush all business, and control them as well. So if the negotiation with the energy companies don’t result in compliance, they will be persuaded (punished) with various regulations, fees, etc. That’s the power of government persuasion.

  16. Southrider says:

DumBO on ‘Clean energy and the economy’?

He speaks for the same cabal of folks running the ‘Global Warming’ hoax; old socialists who want America destroyed and an Amerika in it’s place (‘fundamentally change’), crooks looking to profit from cap and trade (ex., Soros, and, earlier, Ken Lay), and old hippies trying to destroy industry. These folks are better liars than most.

Energy independence requires a near-term solution – natural gas and domestic oil (both from oil wells and shale), these are not renewable, and implementation of a H2/nuclear powered nation as a goal.

Putting a majority of private and commercial land vehicles on natural gas (which we have in abundance) markedly decreases our requirement for non-US/Canadian oil.

‘Conservatives’ who partner with leftists because ‘it doesn’t matter if you doubt’, ‘even if you don’t believe’ in the AGW hoax are fools. They think they’ll get energy independence by riding along with AGW hoaxers.

    They won’t.

They’re ‘useful fools’ in the march to cap and trade and an attempt at a socialist, global economy.

I liked the “if they would just lay back and enjoy it” line. Nice reference to a quote from a former senator (who I can’t remember) when he was caught saying that women should try to enjoy being raped. That’s the kind of sick mentality we’re faced with.

  20. Carol-1R says:

Listening to today’s podcast now. Where’s the chatroom? Kidding! I wish I could participate more.
I got the letter to “Resident” informing me that I would be getting the census to fill out in order to get goodies for me and my neighbors. Wonder if I’ll get a letter after getting the census form telling me that I got the census form in the mail? The 3 point message to dummies:
Tell them what they’re going to get.
Give it to them – or not.
Then tell them what you gave ‘em.

    • sandyl says:

Carol-1R, You are absolutely right. We should not be surprised if they start printing and distributing “Census for Dummies” handbooks. It will include the information you mentioned, along with a handy guide on how to answer the questions.
How many people in your household – this means we want a count, count means numbers usually starting with the number 1……
the term people means a real live person (unless you are a democrat, then you can count any person breathing or NOT). It could also include body pillows….
By household we mean the structure you are living in, a box, a car, your mother’s basement……

I’m sure if they made the healthcare bill over 2,000 pages, they could easily surpass that for this handbook.

Tammy, MySpace is alive and well. The founder said last December that he is revamping MySpace because he felt it was like an empty amusement park. If you want a custom music player, customizable backgrounds and layouts, vivid color, individual artistry, and plenty more, MySpace is the place to be. Facebook is boring, dull, and colorless. I know I know, everyone that matters has a Facebook. MySpace is more like Alice in Wonderland! I’m just saying. :)

    • Leon says:

I love myspace for the music. I’m listening to my player at this moment. It seems to be the only way I get some music. Dratted TV you know? I’m the one with the hunger for music. I put on my head phones and have some time of my own. Then it’s time for Tammy and Kay wants to hear too.
      Before that though:
I spend time with the Cranberries and Sinead O’Connor and Tears For Fears and Linda Ronstadt and Hayley Westenra and Chris Isaak and Alannah Myles and Amy Winehouse and sometimes I have a thing with Sade. I have a history with Dido and Annie Lennox. Life is good on myspace. Facebook is about social and family contacts and I have a page. Thank goodness I don’t have to choose. Sinead would miss me.
