It’s been so long since we’ve seen a real man in the public eye that we tend to forget such creatures exist. I think those who would destroy us want us to forget.

    From West’s wikipedia entry:

While serving in Taji, Iraq on August 20, 2003 as commander of the 2d Battalion 20th Field Artillery, 4th Infantry Division, Lieutenant Colonel West was in charge of but not present at an interrogation of an Iraqi police officer who was suspected of having imminent information regarding attacks on American soldiers. According to the Iraqi police officer, soldiers under West’s supervision assaulted him attempting to get him to talk. West fired a pistol near the policeman’s head, threatened his life, and allowed his troops to physically assault the man.

West, who at the time was just short of having 20 years of service, was charged with violating articles 128 (assault) and 134 (general article) of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. West was processed through an Article 32 hearing in November 2003, where he admitted wrongdoing, was fined $5,000 over two months for misconduct and assault. He then submitted his resignation, and was allowed to retire with full benefits in the summer of 2004.

At a hearing, West was asked by his defense attorney if he would do it again. “If it’s about the lives of my men and their safety, I’d go through hell with a gasoline can,” he said. Apparently not knowing West’s gun was aimed into a barrel, “Hamoody cracked and gave information about the planned ambush on West’s convoy, thwarting the attack.” West said there were no further ambushes on U.S. forces in Taji until he was relieved of his leadership post on October 4.” After West’s resignation was brought to public attention the next fall, he received over two thousand letters and e-mails from the American public offering him moral support. In addition, a letter was drafted to the Secretary of the Army, its signatories being ninety-five members of Congress in West’s support.

So this is the sort of man that gets kicked out of the military. That should send a chill up your spine. Who needs fighting men when we’ve got lawyers?

It looks like Col. West is the real thing. Lord knows we need the real thing. We’re ready to do our parts and hold the line, but someone in a position of knowledgeable leadership has got to coordinate that line so it will operate effectively.

West mentions the War of Independence. Today, April 19, is the anniversary of the opening salvo of that war. In 1775, the British moved to confiscate American arms, and patriots fired “the shot heard round the world”.

This is a great man! Thank you Colonel West for stepping into the gap!
He could be our president some day. Can you imagine a West/Palin, Palin/West ticket? I know, it’s too good to be true.

  3. _1elder1 says:

I am with Lt Col West………………No Problem.

Tammy, what is up with John Mc Cain In AZ? There is 17% unemployment…Mexican drugies are killing ranchers and Mc Cain is pivoting on a cactus. If he dared to promote amnesty any more we would have to scrape him off the desert sands.
Mc Cain sould be speaking strong like Allen West. Meek and Mild does not cut it, Juan.

    WORD…
    Conservatives in 2010 http://www.sarahpac.com ,too.
    Palin in 2012

    Thanks, Maynard.

Allen West is the man [chicks, too] JG Holland wrote about in his poem, God, Give Us Men:

God give us men a time like this demands
Strong minds, great hearts, true faith, and ready hands
    [Remember West's Revolution Club Speech].

Men whom the lust of office does not kill
Men whom the spoils of office cannot buy
Men who possess opinions and a will
    Men who have honor
    Men who will not lie
Men who can stand before Obama a demagogue,
And damn his treacherous flatteries without winking
Tall men, sun-crowned, who live above the fog
In public duty and in private thinking,

For while the rabble, with their thumb-worn creeds
Their large professions, and their little deeds
    Mingle in selfish strife
    O! Freedom weeps
Wrong rules the land, and waiting Justice sleeps.

“Rise and shine,” so says West, Palin, Rubio, Chavetz, Bachmann… And last but not least, We The People!

Watching Bob Beckel try to denigrate this American Hero on Sean Hannity Monday night got my hackles up.

    • Chuck says:

There were too many liberals on Hannity’s panel on Monday. I usually watch Beckel, but the other liberal lady was too much to handle. I guess I missed his comment. Beckel doesn’t hold a candle next to the good Colonel.

  9. Lieutenant Colonel Allen West is everything Beckel is not: intelligent, honorable, handsome, gallant, virile.

    Perhaps Beckel is just jealous…
