Don’t Miss Tammy Sunday on C-Span’s BookTV
by Tammy on April 25, 2010**Bumped Up: If you missed it, here it is, courtesy of C-SPAN2. And, congrats to one of our subscribers, RuBegonia for getting through on the call-in! :) ** Here I am after the show with BookTV’s Peter Slen. You know, to be honest with you, I was surprised with how tired I looked in this interview. And honestly, I was tired. But then through the day, which has been absolutely a beautiful one out here in Los Angeles, I remembered a quote from Thomas Paine and think it worthy of sharing. “Those who want to reap the benefits of this great nation must bear the fatigue of supporting it.” He’s just sayin’ ;) *************** I’m pleased to let you know...

Hamas’ Cruel Cartoon Threat
by Pat_S on April 25, 2010A post by Pat Using the figure of the anguished father of the captured soldier Gilad Shalit, Hamas broadcast a grim threat attempting to pressure Israel into a prisoner exchange. Making it even more grotesque is using animation as the medium to depict Shalit’s father, forlorn and aging, walking abandoned streets passing reminders of successive calls for his son’s release. In the end there is finally a prisoner exchange. His son is returned in a coffin. Hamas releases animated Shalit video on web A video produced by Hamas’ armed wing the Al-Qassam Brigades, will broadcast a 3D animated video of captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit on Sunday, over the movement’s Al-Aqsa satellite TV station. The video, posted to the Al-Qassam...

Thank You Arizona
by Pat_S on April 23, 2010A post by Pat It had to be done and they did it. Gov. Brewer signed S.B. 1070 into law addressing the crisis the federal government has refused to fix. Now get ready for the fallout. The law is attacked as empowering law enforcement to engage in racial profiling. Gov. Brewer and law enforcement officials assure that won’t be the case. The pro-amnesty forces will waste no time going after the law with legal challenges, boycotts and everything else in their toolbox. Some will say the law makes it even more imperative to pass immigration “reform”. Fox News’ Judge Napolitano sums up the anti-1070 arguments succinctly. We should stand by and let millions of people enter the country illegally, be...

Need a Tax Extension?
by Maynard on April 22, 2010A helpful post by Maynard Are you late? For recorded information on filling an extension, call the IRA Tax Extension Help Line at 631-403-2025. If you’re easily offended, don’t call that number. Instead, use this gentler alternative number: 267-436-5139. (Yes, this is a goof. Give it a try if you’ve got an idle moment.)

South Park Notes
by Maynard on April 22, 2010A post by Maynard You’ve probably heard about the latest South Park show in which Mohammed appears. The South Park team took the occasion of their 200th show to revisit previous controversies. Here’s a short YouTube interview with South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker. They recall how mentioning Mohammed suddenly became a taboo in the wake of the Danish cartoons. Prior to that, it was no big deal. The “Super Best Friends” episode of South Park’s fifth season portrayed a gathering of religious figures…including Mohammed. You’ll see a clip from that episode 3 minutes into the interview. Mohammed is just one of the boys; he’s not singled out for special attention. (The full episode has been removed from...
