Obama Admin Subpoenaed in Fort Hood Probe
by Tammy on April 20, 2010Welcome to Hopey Changey Transparency, and an administration that seems it has more to hide each day. Senators Lieberman and Collins took the action after being stonewalled for months by the Defense and Justice Departments about the Fort Hood terrorist massacre. At this point, we now have to wonder why Holder and other Obama gangsters dont want to cooperate on a matter involving a terrorist attack on one of our Army bases. On our own soil. Really–what exactly is the problem Urkel? Obama administration subpoenaed in Fort Hood probe Two U.S. lawmakers subpoenaed the Obama administration on Monday for information sought in a congressional probe of last year’s shooting rampage at Fort Hood, Texas, that left 13 soldiers dead and...

Can You Obama-Proof Your Savings?
by Maynard on April 19, 2010A post by Maynard The other day, George Soros sounded the warning of another market crash. Soros is not our favorite person, but he knows a thing or two about finances. [Soros] said the same strategy of borrowing and spending that had got us out of the Asian crisis could shunt us towards another crisis unless tough lessons are learned. “The success in bailing out the system on the previous occasion led to a superbubble, except that in 2008 we used the same methods. Unless we learn the lessons, that markets are inherently unstable and that stability needs to the objective of public policy, we are facing a yet larger bubble. We have added to the leverage by replacing private...

They’re Old, White and Don’t Like What Obama is Doing
by Pat_S on April 17, 2010A post by Pat They’re old! They’re white! They wear funny hats! They’re protesting against a black President’s policy! They disrespected an elected a seated Senator by occupying his local office and raising their voices! Shall we conclude they are fans of Fox News and talk radio? Not much hand wringing about this incident of extremists-against-Obama. I have a hunch protest is not something new for them. A few days later they were at it again, demonstrating in front of Senator Klobuchar’s Minneapolis Office. (Warning: This video clip includes a depressing rendition of aging hippies singing “We Shall Overcome” and other greatest hits of the 60′s protest era.) Despite the wailing about the uncivil discourse of our times, I think...

Fun with Teabags!
by Maynard on April 16, 2010A post by Maynard Here’s what I put on my car. I guess it’s obvious enough, but I don’t recall having seen any such thing. Maybe I can start a trend. But, considering the enlightenment of my region, I’m more likely to get torched. This notion made me wonder what else one can do with teabags. Hey, ladies, how about you start wearing teabags as earrings? I Googled and found that there really are earrings with dangling teabag charms. (Here’s one example.) But it seems to me this thing should be done crudely, with a real teabag. A homegrown effort would express the true grassroots nature of the movement. Hmmm, I wonder what would happen if you asked your kids...

Once More, Through the Looking Glass
by Maynard on April 16, 2010A note by Maynard You probably heard today’s clips of Obama at a Democrat fundraiser. Obama credited his signature economic recovery package with putting more than two million Americans back to work and with cutting taxes for families, small businesses and students. And he singled out the anti-tax tea party movement that fanned out across the country Thursday to hold demonstrations and rallies marking Tax Day. “I’ve been a little amused over the last couple of days where people have been having these rallies about taxes,” the president said, noting the numerous tax cuts pushed by his administration. “You would think they’d be saying thank you.” [If you listen to the audio, you'd hear Obama chuckle and pause for a...
