Candy Stuck on Palin’s Bucks
by Pat_S on April 11, 2010A post by Pat There she goes again. Candy Crowley admits there’s something about Sarah. Despite how others try to explain that certain something, for Crowley it always comes back to money. Later in the segment, Crowley had this to say: Love her or hate her, a couple of numbers only add to her mystique, “12″ and “2.2 million”. That’s the number of weeks Going Rogue was on the New York Times Best Selller list and the number of copies sold. Not many people would bet that Sarah Palin would fade away after the election, and she didn’t. She’s a politician who crossed into the celebrity zone making gobs of money in the public space with maximum exposure and minimum...

Tabitha Hale Blogging from SRLC
by Tammy on April 10, 2010You’ll all remember Tabitha Hale as a guest on Tammy Radio this week. Just after the show she went to New Orleans to attend the Southern Republican Leadership Council and has been blogging with updates over at Red State. In her blog about Day One at SRLC Tabitha updates on all events, but I especially appreciate her comments about Tony Perkins, the president of the Family Research Council, and his rant about Teh Gays. Tabitha is a reflection of an Authentic Conservative and Christian who reflects far more of Jesus’ plea for tolerance and understanding than someone like Tony Perkins ever will. I must say, I find it interesting that certain people on the religious right seem obsessed with homosexuality....

Send Your Prayers to Poland
by Tammy on April 10, 2010An absolutely horrific plane crash has taken the lives the Poland’s president Lech Kaczynski, their First lady Maria Kaczyńska and some of that country’s highest military and civilian leaders. The world owes a debt of gratitude to Poland. Not only have they always been a remarkable people, but in the Battle of Vienna in 1683 it was Poland’s King Sobieski who pushed back the marauding Islamic hoards who were besieging Vienna. The Polish success at Vienna stopped the Islamists who otherwise would have likely taken the whole of Europe, ending civilization as we know it. Please send your prayers and thoughts to the people of Poland for an absolutely astounding loss of so many of their leaders. Polish leader, 96...

Happy Tax Freedom Day!
by Tammy on April 9, 2010A little salute to the day that represents the most massive redistribution of wealth in the history of mankind–from your wallet to Big, Fat Government. April 9, 2010 is the day when you have finally made enough money for this year to meet all your tax obligations to pay the incompetent and very often corrupt state and federal government. Congratulations. By the way, in 2010 you will have paid more taxes in 2010 than you will have spent on food, clothing and shelter combined. That’s right–TEA–Taxed Enough Already! America Celebrates Tax Freedom Day® Tax Freedom Day will arrive on April 9 this year, the 99th day of 2010, according to our annual calculation using the latest government data on income...

In Defense of John McCain
by Maynard on April 9, 2010Maynard Waxes Disagreeable Whether you agree or disagree with me here (and I do not insist upon agreement), I think a few contrarian words need to be said. I’ll be brief… Tammy has listed John McCain’s faults, and I’ll agree with most of her gripes. But I’m seeing something of a knee-jerk reaction from the Tea Partiers; a tendency to excessively pile onto McCain. This is unwise. I think we’re in danger of losing sight of the big picture. The two greatest perils the nation faces (aside from general political dysfunction) are a sputtering economy and a treacherous international situation. In addressing both of these issues, John McCain has a long history of being on the right side, and of...

Hissa Hilal Third Place – Abu Dhabi Poetry Contest Final
by Pat_S on April 8, 2010A post by Pat Update to: Kudos to a Brave Saudi Housewife Hissa Hilal who received death threats for her bold poems condemning militant clerics and the lack of freedoms came in third. She received 60% of the judges’ votes, but only 40% of the audience votes. Some ballot stuffing would be my guess. Saudi female poet Hissa Hilal loses in contest final Hissa Hilal, who had attracted attention with her poetry – fiercely critical of Islamist radicals – came third in the Millions Poet contest But the mother of four walked away with a $817,000 (£536,000) prize. Mrs Hilal, Wearing the Saudi traditional head-to-toe black abaya cloak, with a veil masking her face, recited her last poem in the...

Crist Likely Considering FL Run as Independent
by Tammy on April 8, 2010Looks a bit like the “you can’t fire me, I quit” scenario, but we shouldn’t be surprised if Crist so easily throws off the Republican cloth in order to squeak past a Republican primary he is most likely going to lose. If this illustrates anything, it’s how much of an unprincipled, non-conservative Crist has been all along, and how imperative the Tea Party movement has been and is in rooting out these liberal Pretenders. Marco Rubio war chest, speculation over Charlie Crist grow When Marco Rubio announced Wednesday that he raised a whopping $3.6 million over the past 90 days, it was another game-changer in the GOP U.S. Senate primary. This just a day after Gov. Charlie Crist bucked fellow...
