Dancing With The Stares
by Pat_S on May 14, 2010A post by Pat We were recently discussing the depravity of a culture that engages in female genital mutilation. What can be said about a culture that does this to little girls? Our culture sexualizes little girls through toys, fashion, media and music. What is the matter with parents? Here’s a mom of one of the girls explaining this is a family oriented activity taken out of context. It’s a sport. People just don’t understand the dance moves. Mom, it’s the little girls who don’t understand the dance moves. The father had it right: “She really doesn’t know what she’s doing.” I guess it can’t be sexual if little girls make those moves? Urban dance? More like a pedophile’s dream....

Aliens Hijack Voyager 2
by Maynard on May 14, 2010A post by Maynard Space aliens, sensing Obama’s weakness, have hijacked the Voyager 2 spacecraft. Voyager 2 was launched in 1977. It went on an amazing grand tour of the outer planets, visiting Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. It is currently 92 times as far away from the Sun as the Earth is, and more than twice as far from the Sun as Pluto. It’s drifting endlessly outwards, carrying a multicultural golden record that the space aliens will need an old record player to listen to. NASA continues to maintain radio contact with the two Voyager craft. Take a moment to think about the difficulty of transmitting and receiving from a tiny object more than 8 billion miles away. It’s...

Neil Armstrong on Obama’s NASA
by Maynard on May 13, 2010A post by Maynard I don’t necessarily trust any bureaucracy to do anything beyond getting itself paid. And I don’t know enough about the NASA situation to weigh in with great clarity. But it’s significant when someone like Neil Armstrong, who has historically stayed out of the spotlight and might even be described as reclusive, feels compelled to make a public condemnation using the strongest possible words. Armstrong, who commanded the historic Apollo 11 moon landing mission in July 1969, criticized what he billed as an air of secrecy that preceded Obama’s February announcement which cancelled NASA’s Constellation program aiming for the moon. That plan, he told a Senate subcommittee, was a surprise to many among NASA, academia and the...

by Tammy on May 12, 2010Arizona Governor bans ethnic studies program Arizona gov. signs bill targeting ethnic studies State schools chief Tom Horne, who has pushed the bill for years, said he believes the Tucson school district’s Mexican-American studies program teaches Latino students that they are oppressed by white people. Public schools should not be encouraging students to resent a particular race, he said. “It’s just like the old South, and it’s long past time that we prohibited it,” Horne said. Mojave Memorial Cross Stolen
by Tammy on May 11, 2010Pathetic. There is a reward being offered. Here are the details. Thieves Steal Mojave Desert Memorial Cross in Nighttime Heist The 7-foot-tall metal cross that has stood in California’s Mojave Desert for 75 years and withstood a hard-fought battle in the Supreme Court was ripped down and stolen Sunday night, according to park officials. “This is an outrage, akin to desecrating people’s graves,” said Kelly Shackelford, president of the Liberty Institute, which represents the caretakers of the Mojave Desert War Memorial. “It’s a disgraceful attack on the selfless sacrifice of our veterans. We will not rest until this memorial is re-installed.” The National Park Service says someone cut the metal bolts holding the metal-pipe cross to the top of Sunrise...

Biting Sanctions: Rare, Medium, Not Well Done
by Pat_S on May 11, 2010A post by Pat Is this the U.N. Security Council’s idea of biting sanctions against Iran? Last week the Iranians held a dinner party that only in the sugar coated world of diplomacy had any meat. The U.S. normally doesn’t attend Iranian dinners. This time we sent a low level Wolff. The diplomatic delicacies included Chinese and franks. Even though we can smell the Iranians are preparing a mushroom cloud for a future occasion, sanctions were not on the table at this party. You can bet nothing was Kosher. If you can swallow it, these are the reasons the dinner satiated the already engorged diplomats: “We see this as an opportunity for Iran to show the council that they’re prepared...
