SCOTUS: Yes, Americans Have the Right to Bear Arms
by Tammy on June 28, 2010Yes, we should be happy, but a 5-4 decision is way too close. One more liberal on that panel would condemn the Constitution. Speaking of which, the Kagan confirmation hearing begins today. Will Repubs do anything to stop that trainwreck? No. Supreme Court rules that all Americans have fundamental right to bear arms The Supreme Court ruled for the first time Monday that the Second Amendment provides all Americans a fundamental right to bear arms, a long-sought victory for gun rights advocates who have chafed at federal, state and local efforts to restrict gun ownership. The court was considering a restrictive handgun law in Chicago and one of its suburbs that was similar to the District law that it ruled...

Renewing Faith in the Human Race
by Tammy on June 28, 2010Happy Monday! Let’s start the week off with a reminder of how great people can be. After the jump enjoy the Great Story Without a Word, sent to me by my good friend Chuck. I’m sure it’s made the interwebtube rounds, but certainly worth being here forever on Tammy Blog. Unfortunately, I don’t know the background to this story, so if any of you do please let me know!

Why Obama’s Liberal Keynesian Spending Spree Failed
by Tammy on June 28, 2010An enlightening piece from the WSJ on the theory so-called Progressives, like Obama, and liberals like Bush, relied on when implementing the now certifiably insane spending-our-way-out-of-debt tripe. Before you read the article in full, here’s some background on Keynesian economics which promotes the notion that the private sector is too inefficient economically so public section action and intervention is required. Now as the G8 has closed and it’s clear Obama’s plea for the rest of the world to continue down his path of economic death and destruction was rejected, this may be the final blow to those who believe the private sector and free market aren’t good enough. Deep in one story about the conclusion of the G8 and their...

God Bless Israel. May She Live Forever.
by Tammy on June 26, 2010**Bumped Up: With the tyrants in Iran blinking today, “Iran cancels plan to send ship to Gaza,” I thought it appropriate to bump up this video post from back in February. ** ********** As Jew-hating tyrants meet freely in the Middle East and speak of the ‘annihilation of Israel,’ here’s a video which reminds us why Israel exists, and who she is today. It’s time for our generation to pledge Never Forget, but also Never Again. VIDEO:

A Postscript on the Palin-Stanislaus Controversy
by Tammy on June 26, 2010The local station which live streamed the Palin speech has issued a complete statement regarding their review of the unprofessional and insulting comments made by technicians and others in the media room after the event. These remarks were picked up by Fox40′s live mic and live-streamed to the world. As you can tell by my original post, I’ve come to my conclusion about the source of those remarks. Fox40 has reviewed the same material and comes to a different conclusion. After the jump I’ve linked and posted their full statement. Bottom line–Fox40 insists it wasn’t them. None of the reporters, technicians or anyone else in that media room were associated with Fox40. There is no apology and they do not...

Milwaukee’s Cuckoo Nest
by Pat_S on June 26, 2010A post by Pat You’ve most likely heard about Milwaukee County Board member Peggy West’s remarks that Arizona isn’t on the border so what’s with that SB 1070. She said Arizona was “a ways away from the border” and then said there must already be troops on the Arizona border because she googled and saw Gov. Brewer talking to the President. It’s reported that West later clarified her remarks. Heh heh of course she knows Arizona is on the border it’s just that the Arizona border isn’t as long as the Texas border. So did she mean Arizona was a ways away from the eastern border of Texas? County Board Delays Vote on Arizona Boycott “I did get a passing...

Fabulous New Border Ad By Jan Brewer
by Tammy on June 26, 2010Very impressive. I’m thrilled so many women are leading the charge these days. Governor Brewer discusses what we talked about on Tammy Radio a couple of weeks ago–how a big section of Arizona is now deemed No Man’s Land due to drug smuggling and the cartels. Brewer let’s Obama have it.

Anosognosic Nation
by Maynard on June 25, 2010Maynard pontificates and confesses Today I learned a new word. “Anosognosic”. I looked it up, so I know it’s real. There’s also a Wiki entry for “Anosognosia”. Anosognosic: The apparent unawareness of or failure to recognize one’s own functional defect. I encountered the word in this interesting article, “The Anosognosic’s Dilemma”. It opens with a comical (but true) description of a bank robber who was incompetent to a degree that defied belief. David Dunning, a Cornell professor of social psychology, read the story and tried to make sense of human behavior. How can people be so brainless? As Dunning read through the article, a thought washed over him, an epiphany. If Wheeler [the perpetrator] was too stupid to be a...
