What Are the New Sanctions on Iran?
by Maynard on June 11, 2010A post by Maynard This Economist article clarifies what’s being sanctioned. This further round of sanctions is unlikely to stop Iran if it is set on making a bomb. The sanctions add a list of heavy weapons that may not be sold to Iran, and forbid Iran to develop ballistic missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads. They lengthen slightly a list of Iranian officials and institutions on which various travel and financial restrictions are imposed. Perhaps most prominently, the resolution calls on countries to board ships bound for Iran and inspect their cargo, to enforce the resolution (if the country flagging the ships agrees, which is a big if). What the resolution does not do is take a bite out...

No Reason To Build That Wall #1,793,007
by Tammy on June 8, 2010How is Governor Jan Brewer protecting the citizens of Arizona? Let me count the ways. Bodies With Hearts Cut Out Found in Mexican Cave Even in the midst of a drug war that has left thousands dead, this was a particularly gruesome discovery: six bodies in a cave, three of them with their hearts apparently cut out. That is what police in Mexico found Sunday, in a natural cave just outside the resort town of Cancun…In the U.S., Cancun is probably best known as a vacation spot, but recently it has become yet another backdrop for Mexico’s increasingly violent battle against the drug cartels. The city is home to high-profile murders, drug-related violence and human smuggling. And it is becoming...

The Shocking Story of Bearack Obearma
by Tammy on June 8, 2010Everybody should heed the warning to not feed wildlife because they become dependent and cannot forage for themselves anymore. This is such a tragedy to see what they have done to our country’s beautiful animals! The photo below captures a disturbing trend that is beginning to affect US wildlife. Animals that were formerly self-sufficient are now showing signs of belonging to the Democrat Party, as they have apparently learned to just sit and wait for the government to step in and provide for their care and sustenance. This photo is just one example of a Democrat bear in Montana who actually changed his name to honor his hero: Bearack Obearma

After a Week of Helen Thomas, a Palin Palate Cleanser
by Tammy on June 8, 2010Or, as saxindacity noted over at iotw, “The mood of the nation would change in a hurry if we saw something like that descending from Air Force One.” Yeah, and after a week of looking at Helen Thomas, both of the Palins are a bit more inspiring ;) Here they are at the Belmont race, impressive, relaxed and obviously confident even in jeans and a t-shirt. Exit question: Do either of these people ever take a bad pic? One additional note: This should remind all of us one of the more serious attacks on Palin, unsaid by most but pushed by misogynists, will be about her appearance. The supposed question will be as we proceed to 2012, Can a beautiful...
