Goodbye Miss Lindsay.. Don’t let the door hit your tutu on the way out. Eric Cantor, who is my rep, I have my eye on you as I told your press secretary I am on your back to keep you in line. It would be nice to have a home boy as a true conservative hero but the disappointments are outweighing the triumphs. DiDi Scozza has me saying ‘ just say no’ .. *sigh*

Tammy — again, you’re ahead of the curve. Andrew Breitbart just echoed on Hannity what you so eloquently said this morning about the tactic of claiming bogus charges of racism on the Tea Party. He stated that Mary Frances Berry, former chair of the US Commission on Civil Rights (appointed by Carter and Clinton) said that “tainting the Tea Party movement with the charge of racism is proving to be an effective strategy for democrats. There is no evidence that the Tea Party adherents are any more racist than other republicans, and indeed many other Americans, but getting them to spend their time purging their ranks and having candidates distance themselves should help democrats win in November. Having one opponent rebut charges of racism is far better than discussing joblessness.” The Mark Williams incident proves this point, and indeed we should be prepared to see much more of this kind of bogus attacks in the months ahead.

Being stuck in twitmo when you have tweets to toss out is frustrating. So here they go.
    1. Sherrod whether racist or not deserved to have a fair hearing before being fired. From what I understand she was in her car going home when she received three phone calls, the last one telling her to pull over and immediately tender her resignation, the White House demanded it. Now if she had been I man, I do not think anyone would have used that tactic. Was she expected to resign and disappear? “Know your place”.
Seems not only conservative women can be Grizzlies. Sherrod got her back up and called them all out on TV. Pointing fingers, very credibly I think, and causing NAACP which first denounced her to backtrack. Still waiting for the NAACP to see the racism in the NBP and Rev. Wright. Oh but they’re men and can be expected to fight back if attacked.

    2. I know absolutely nothing about the various Tea Party groups, I am not a joiner, and had my fill of all parties, political and otherwise years ago. I took a long time to join the TAMMY Army because I do not want to belong to anything. I have seen “good groups” go bad when the initial reason for the group gets overwhelmed by the need to keep it going. Personalities clash. The battles between the purists and the pragmatists begin, and the very reason the group was formed gathers dust while factions in the group battle for control. Been there, done that, so I have tended to ignore most TP groups and tried to keep my focus on the goal of returning the country to the basic conservative principles I believe are essential for a successful America. I think that is why I can feel comfortable in the Tammy Army where I’ve gotten to know people like me and people very different from me. We all share a love for our country and want to take it back. Once that’s done, we can have some great discussions about the other issues which are important to us, but for now we can focus on the goal. We need insight from folks like Tammy and others to understand what is possible, about what works and what doesn’t. We need to listen, and to think and to act. And yes, we need to get passionate, and yell sometimes. From the little I know about the TP man who was “kicked out” , it sounds like a power struggle for control of the TP movement. One point of view to represent us all, and experience tells me it will not work. I didn’t see what was written but have been informed it was satire. Perhaps not quite what some folks felt comfortable with, but when the fate of our country is at stake, making a federal case of it seems nonproductive. I am not getting involved at this point because whether or not there is a tea party movement, there are millions of Americans who are fed up with what is happening . I will work with anyone I feel I can trust to go forward with me. I will do all I can. I am not going to waste my energy with intra-movement spats. I will use groups to help me proceed, but I will give my allegiance to none of them. I appreciate the fact that so many truly talented people, like Tammy, and Andrew and Rush and Glen and Sarah et al are making this journey, I am thrilled to find I am not alone, but if I must do this alone I will. It is too important..
