I had the pleasure of meeting Pamela Gorman at the RightOnline conference in Vegas and was very impressed. She was one of the on the Smart Girls Roundtable special podcast we did. Running for congress from Arizona, Pamela is exactly the non-nonsense Common Sense conservative we need in Washington which is exactly why all across the internet today it’s…Pamela Gorman Day!

Over at FTRRadio they are also dedicating the day to helping get Pamela Gorman elected.

I now point you to my friend Stephen Kruiser, comedian, writer, and blogger and his thoughts about why Pamela matters so much in this “put up or shut up” election year.

Welcome to the “put up or shut up” phase of the 2010 election year.

For years, we conservatives have experienced a steady dose of buyer’s remorse with seemingly every Republican elected to represent us. Frustration and anger with the Obama/Pelosi/Reid three-headed bureaucratic monster but the seeds of crankiness were sown by a Republican Congress that spent money like a Kennedy kid on Spring Break.

We now face a unique set of circumstances leading into the fall elections and have a pretty clear choice in front of us: do we keep running candidates through the GOP mill and hope they don’t sell us out or do we go all-in for candidates who embody true conservative principles? [...]

There is now a great opportunity for those of us who truly want conservatives representing us in AZ-03. Pamela Gorman is running in a ten person primary against opponents who include a carpetbagger, a chronic liar and a liberal. She has a legislative record that any conservative can endorse. While Senate Majority Whip in Arizona, she fought her own party and Governor Jan Brewer on a tax increase that the Republicans were trying to shove down their constituents’ throats. It takes an extraordinary amount of backbone to be the party whip and tell the rest of the leadership off. It is also the kind of spine that’s been lacking in GOP leadership for far too long.

Pamela also co-sponsored a little bill known as SB-1070. It’s been in the news a couple of times lately. So we know where she stands on that mess.

If a serious conservative built a candidate from the ground up Pamela Gorman would inevitably be the end result.

Gorman came to the attention of many with this machine gun campaign ad which, appropriately, went viral :)

She did indeed sound impressive at the Las Vegas thing so I donated a small sum. Thanks for giving her a chance to voice her stance on the radio Tammy! You’re the best!

    Wow, I love that ad!

Wow it’s a good time to be a conservative. So many good looking women in the movement. Just trying to get on Tammy’s nerves here.

Why not attractive intelligent women? Have we not had enough of the other kind, such as the wicked witch of the west (speaker of the house Pelosi), and now another one for the supreme court (Kagan), not to mention the other woman in the White House who despised her country. Beauty shines forth from within, and so does ugliness. Meanness and wickedness is prominently displayed on a rotten persons exterior, just as a good persons character shines forth as Sara Palin’s and Tammy’s does.

I have to boast a bit about Pam Gorman and some other women you need to know about in AZ – especially if you live in the districts described below:

If I lived in Pam Gorman’s district, she would be getting my vote. I have met Vernon Parker (one of the 10 running in the CD3 race) and genuinely like him, but he has worked for both Bush presidents and that makes me more than a little apprehensive.

Gorman does take stands even when it goes against the party faithful. It’s very true what she did in going against the tax increase last year. She went against it and so did two other Republicans. I like that!

Gorman was just in Tucson a few hours ago. Roger Hedgecock came out here for a BUYCOTT for our state and though I was at work, my pal Jennifer called a little bit ago to tell me she met Gorman and had a chance to speak to her. Gorman addressed the crowd as did JD Hayworth. I hope and pray they both win August 24th! We need them both!

Also, please check out another very impressive woman running for office, Ruth McClung (www.ruth4az.com). She is a physicist with Raytheon running in Arizona’s 7th district. There are 2 GOP opponents: Terry Myers, who entered the race in March and has a public record of DUI’s & Domestic Violence, and Robert Sweeney who ran in the district mulitiple times on his ‘Caucasian ancestry’ as he enjoys telling people for some reason. He is the reason Raul Grijalva (the Boycott AZ congressional thug) has remained in office for so long.

Unfortunately, the Pima County GOP have not been willing to support Ruth ever since she announced she was running last year (ironically, some in the hdqtrs were giddy that Terry Myers was running). They totally dismissed her and said CD7 was Raul’s stronghold. Ruth and her family are running the campaign totally from Ruth’s house, and she has garnered a significant following in her district. It has surprised a lot of people – but not those of us who know Ruth. I have every bit of confidence she’s going to win the primary and will go on to boycott Grijalva in November.

Janet Contreras gained national recognition last year when she wrote a letter to Glenn Beck that was read on the air. She is now running for congress in CD4. I met her at the policy summit on immigration that I attended last week. Prior to that, we’ve written back and forth for a good while on Facebook. Absolutely lovely person who is an entrepreneur & knows firsthand the importance of coming to America legally. She’s also a Smart Girl Politics member: (http://www.vote4janet.com/)

Also, we need to support Margaret Dugan for State Superintendent of Schools in Arizona: http://www.margaretdugan.com. Her opponent (John Huppenthal) is a RINO who wanted to extend time to keep La Raza (Ethnic) studies in Tucson High School while the Dept. of Ed. ‘investigated’. He also supports Obama’s ‘Race To The Top’ education plan that is a blueprint toward nationalizing curriculum. Unfortunately, Gov. Brewer has requested those funds as well.

We also have Brenda Burns running for Corporate Commissioner. She was the first woman to hold the position of Arizona Senate President in 1997 ( http://www.brendaburns2010.com/), and Terri Proud running for LD26. She’s a member of Smart Girl Politics who was involved with the Border Clean Up In Memory of Robert Krentz last April and was recently endorsed by State Senator Russell Pearce: http://vote4proud.com/about-terri/.

Of course, Gov. Brewer is up for election this year, and she will get my vote. Though I do not agree with the tax increase she wanted (and got via public vote back in May) or Race to the Top, she is standing tough on the border and kicking the Obama administration in the groin when it comes to securing this nation! She has made significant cuts to many of the wasteful programs Napolitano spurred on and for that, I am grateful. We are also going to have Prop 106 on the ballot which will follow suit with Virginia and Missouri in Just Say No to Obamacare!

So yes – lots of things heating up in Arizona, plus we have some awesome women stepping up to the plate! Support Pam Gorman, Ruth McClung, Margaret Dugan, Brenda Burns, Janet Contreras, Terri Proud and Governor Jan Brewer!

…and if you have a little spare change, please support Jesse Kelly for congress, too! : )(http://www.votejessekelly.com/)

Thanks Artgal for the endorsement of JD Hayworth — as a longtime resident of Arizona, we need JD Hayworth! Arizonans who read the “United States of Tammy” — please vote for JD Hayworth — it’s the right time to retire Senator John McCain!

    Thanks -

That looks too good to be true! We need more ads like that one!
