For a few years now Muslim “scientists” and clerics have been calling for setting Mecca time as the new GMT. They claim it is scientifically established that Mecca is the center of the world. The proposal came up again recently when the biggest clock in the world went into operation in Mecca.

Saudis hope giant clock will set ‘Mecca Time’

Saudi Arabia hopes the four faces of the new clock, which will loom over Mecca’s Grand Mosque from what is expected to be the world’s second tallest building, will establish Mecca as an alternate time standard to the Greenwich median.

The clock is targeted to enter service with a three-month trial period in the first week of the holy month of Ramadan on or about August 12, according to the Saudi state news agency SPA.

The clock reflects a goal by some Muslims to replace the 126-year-old Universal Time standard — originally called Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) — with Mecca mean time.

At a conference in Doha in 2008, Muslim clerics and scholars presented “scientific” arguments that Mecca time is the true global meridian. They said that Mecca is the centre of the world and that the Greenwich standard was imposed by the west in 1884.

Giving a new twist to ‘fall back’ clock setting—

Muslim call to adopt Mecca time

A prominent cleric, Sheikh Youssef al-Qaradawy, said modern science had at last provided evidence that Mecca was the true centre of the Earth; proof, he said, of the greatness of the Muslim “qibla” – the Arabic word for the direction Muslims turn to when they pray.

The meeting also reviewed what has been described as a Mecca watch, the brainchild of a French Muslim.

The watch is said to rotate anti-clockwise and is supposed to help Muslims determine the direction of Mecca from any point on Earth.

Proving that the fanatics are as backwards as we think they are.

Look for the Obama endorsement of this plan at that White House dinner at the end of Ramadan. Have to boost that Muslim self-esteem, after all.

I know of a way to make the radiation in Mecca stronger.

A watch that tells time for a backwards culture…spins backwards. Makes sense.

You know, of course that Urkel now OFFICIALLY demands that the mosque be built. Time to get the monster out!

I happen to like Greenwich Mean Time, or Universal Coordinated Time, or “Zulu” the way it is. As far as I’m concerned, these Muslims can suck my clock.

With Mecca Mean Time (MMT), will it be 5 o’clock somewhere?

When the only book you read is the Qu’ran, you will believe balderdash spewing from the pie hole of this so-called scientist who, by the way, was made to feel good for his contributions by the head of NASA.

On its surface this is laughable, but the intent is deadly serious. It’s another piece in the psychological warfare on the west wrought by Muslim fanatics dreaming of world domination. Coming from them, the term “scientific” is an obscenity.

I hadn’t realized that the planets and other heavenly bodies were actually “hung” out in space, like ornaments on a Christmas tree I suppose. But are we hung from the north or south poles? I’d like to know cause I’ve always wondered how to tell whcih way is up out in space.
