Barbara Boxer aide caught carrying dope (not Boxer, marijuana) into Senate office building

Barbara Boxer aide charged with possession of pot

This is not the first time a member of Boxer’s senior staff has been arrested. Senior policy adviser Jeffrey Rosato, who also worked on the EPW committee, was fired in 2008 after he was arrested and charged with the receipt and distribution of child pornography.

Asra Nomani: Get Over the Quran Burning

On the plan to burn Qurans this weekend, I say to Muslims: Let’s get over the symbolic insult and deal with the very real issues of literal interpretations of the Quran that are used to sanction domestic violence, terrorism, militancy, and suicide bombings in the name of Islam…

We have a random drug test requirement as part of our security regimen to ensure we do not compromise our clients interests.. if you come up dirty, you are ‘relieved’ and escorted off the premises immediately (your desk is cleared for you). There is no appeal or a trip to Betty Ford. Why don’t we have the same standard established for our elected public officials in the interest of our National Security ?

Just saying… I wonder what is running through Barney Frank’s blood stream on any given day.

Tammy, as regards to the proposed Koran burning, here is a link to a story of the U.S. Army burning bibles in Afghanistan that were in their native languages. For fear that they would be construed as trying to convert Muslims to Christianity, and thus offend the Muslims and endanger the troops. Where was the outcry of that! http://edition.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/asiapcf/05/20/us.military.bibles.burned/index.html

I’m not sure I could add anything to the Koran burning debate that hasn’t already been said. I do find the following (from this report) ironic:

David Axelrod, senior adviser to President Barack Obama told CNN Wednesday morning: “The reverend may have the right to do what he’s doing but it’s not right. It’s not consistent with our values … I hope that his conscience and his good sense will take hold.”

Axelrod has a point about self-restraint. There are times when we can do a thing, but maybe we ought not. (Gosh, that sure sounds a lot like some arguments that have been advanced against the Ground Zero mosque.)

Anyway, some wag (not me) posted the following comment on a bulletin board somewhere. I’m not saying this is the final word, but maybe it’s part of the mix.

I don’t think Monty Python could have written it better. You have a nut-job preacher in FL and a bunch of cave dwellers half way across the world, and they’re mad at each other?

WHO told the angry mob half way across the world about the random nut-job in FL?

This reminds me of the “Bum Fights” DVD’s they used to sell, where these enterprising troublemakers would give each bum a bottle of booze to beat the crap out of each other, video it, and sell them for profit.

Arrggg, Megan McCain is on Fox again. I am so tired of hearing her whine. She’s talking about the campaign like she was the one running. Says Obama was unbeatable… No he wasn’t, just unbeatable by your dad. Go away Megan..

Nice to see that Fidel Castro has become a right wing extremist. Next thing you know he’ll be addressing a Tea Party.

Well, you know, Marxists like money too-especially after they’ve killed off the gooses that once laid the ‘Golden Egg’.

As for the Koran burning on 9/11: It brings out the hypocrites who are silent almost daily about similar outrages done to the Bible (by our own government no less) and Christians worldwide, yet as hypocrites they can’t stop mouthing off agaisnt the preacher who wants to burn the Koran….kind of like the Ground Zero mosque controversy.
