“The new poor: poverty reaches historic levels” but it could be worse!?! Gah! Spin, spin, spin for spending, spending and more spending!

On the Krauthammer comments, one of the statements exposed exactly where all these guys are going off the rails.

Kraut said in reference to the O’Donnell result:

“I’d like to see DeMint, Palin now go down to Delaware, spend a couple weeks and elect her now.”

The implication is that DeMint and Palin (or any other political figures) have the power to get folks elected and the voters of Delaware are superfluous lemmings. For them, it’s about the messenger and not the message. That is the paradigm the machines have worked from in the past and where they missed the shift of power that occurred in the Brown and Christie elections. The power has obviously moved out of DC and into the hands of the people, and the DC elites have not yet adapted to the idea they are now observers, not kingmakers.

It’s funny, Palin explicitly defined her criteria for endorsing candidates: conservative principles. It had nothing to do with electability or the personality of the candidates, she chooses people who are conservatives (McCain the exception). Palin has never guaranteed anything, all she has done is point us in the right direction and reminded us WE are responsible for the outcome. Kraut has missed the point that the people of Delaware elected Christine as their candidate, not the political figures. DeMint and Palin don’t need to stump for Christine OD in person, Delawarians have gotten the message and are now acting on it.

This is the real heart of this awakening that seems to have bypassed the comprehension of those with conventional political wisdom (they think it’s a “movement” LOL). We have finally been provoked en mass to awaken from our apathy to take back the responsibility of our destiny.

Palin is not so much leading us in the charge as reminding us that we are in charge and it is OUR responsibility, not the political professionals and special interest groups, to determine where we go….she figured out the age old question of how to lead cats: you don’t because they don’t need to be led … they lead you.

Regarding “failed” candidates, Lincoln was defeated the first time he ran for almost anything:

    List of Lincoln’s failures

A common list of the failures of Abraham Lincoln (along with a few successes) is:

    1831 – Lost his job
1832 – Defeated in run for Illinois State Legislature
    1833 – Failed in business
1834 – Elected to Illinois State Legislature (success)
    1835 – Sweetheart died
    1836 – Had nervous breakdown
1838 – Defeated in run for Illinois House Speaker
1843 – Defeated in run for nomination for U.S. Congress
1846 – Elected to Congress (success)
    1848 – Lost re-nomination
1849 – Rejected for land officer position
1854 – Defeated in run for U.S. Senate
1856 – Defeated in run for nomination for Vice President
1858 – Again defeated in run for U.S. Senate
    1860 – Elected President (success)

So, I guess the Left would have thought Lincoln should have stopped after his first defeat, too.

Morecowbell that is just perfect, you know today was the 1st day the folks that I work with saw me so excited about what was happening in our country. The more we all talked about it the more excited we all got. We all know it won’t be easy but the good things in life never are. Today was a good day, now off to listen to what Tammy has to say about what’s happening today. Have a great weekend TAMS! (gee, guess the word of the day, lol) 45!

Lately, I wonder who is more hostile to the Tea Party movement, the radical, marxist Democrats or the establishment Republicans. Sometimes, I think it is a toss-up.
