Gov. Patrick’s authoritarian aspirations are not new. Earlier this year, he said Republican opposition to the Obama agenda was “almost at the level of sedition”.
I had to go back into my archives to fully remember this, but there are interesting parallels between Patrick and Obama. Both used some of the same campaign staff, particularly David Axelrod. As this article revealed (if I recall correctly, Tammy posted this back in ’08) they were sounding an awful lot like each other, but this was attributed to Axelrod’s talking points that they both used. What I remember hearing about Patrick is he was a tool of the leftist legislature in MA. He’d pass whatever they gave him, because he was (and I assume still is) an empty suit. Like Obama he hardly had any experience before he was elected governor.
