The restaurant chain International House of Pancakes dropped its IHOP trademark infringement lawsuit against the International House of Prayer. The restaurant claimed it might confuse customers and link the church with the restaurant chain.

Well, maybe customers would get confused considering how the restaurant chain imitates a church.

Aside from the fact that people have been known to enter raptures of ecstasy at the International House of Pancakes, consider this. The restaurant’s National Pancake Day is scheduled to coincide with Shrove Tuesday. Families gathering at the restaurant that day are encouraged to make offerings to aid the sick. The land of buttermilk and honey even turns to a crowned heavenly personage to bring about miracles.

The International House of Prayer doesn’t go so far as to claim miracles. IHOP the church may have an occasional pancake breakfast. I don’t know. They do endeavor to feed people but mainly the poor.

About the International House of Prayer Missions Base

The International House of Prayer of Kansas City is an evangelical missions organization that is committed to praying for the release of the fullness of God’s power and purpose, as we actively win the lost, heal the sick, feed the poor, make disciples, and impact the seven spheres of society—family, education, government, economy, arts, media, and religion. Our vision is to work in relationship with the larger Body of Christ to serve the Great Commission, as we seek to walk out the two great commandments to love God and people.

Come hungry, leave happy wherever you choose to worship.

Lemme see here. My Church occasionally has a potluck lunch. Last time I went to IHOP, I had breakfast.
My Church has a Preacher. IHOP doesn’t.
My Church passes a collection plate, but doesn’t kick me out if I don’t put anything in. IHOP gives me a bill, and threatens me if I don’t pay it.
I sing in Church. I don’t in IHOP.
My Church has a tall steeple. IHOP doesn’t.
I come from Church spiritually full. I come from IHOP physically full.

In conclusion, if someone can’t tell the difference between a Church and an IHOP, then they’re just about dumb enough to run for President!

I remember when Obama, in one of his pathetic efforts to show he’s just another regular ‘merican, visited IHOP on his birthday, and asked for the free birthday meal. But they turned him away when he couldn’t show a birth certificate.

i just can’t ‘ get the spirit’ unless a fully loaded tray of heated flavored syrups is involved. “falling into a jar of honey” used to be a metaphor for dying, returning to the deity, maybe that’s why. after all, they didn’t have artificial flavoring or maple syrup in ancient greece.

and now because of “Dead Like Me” going Beyond the Veil is forever associated with Der Waffle Haus, really the IHOP in disguise.
