I support references to people being on crack, Tammy. It’s a legitimate question. My husband used to get mad when I asked my kids if they were on crack…you know…when they were about 6. But, they often acted like they are on crack, so it was only natural that I would wonder.

“Clowns. Sitting next to each other. Waiting for the Clown Boss.”
There’s a Barney Frank joke in that picture……………….
(two weeks in Purgatory for that)
I’m a little embarrassed by the subject/verb agreement in my post and would like to apologize to anyone I have offended with my bad grammar.
Sen. Tom Coburn took an online beating for his National Review article “Civility, Seating, and Substance” that Tammy dissected today.
One guy was obviously a TAM.
He shot back at Coburn’s insanely patronizing scripture quotes…
“How dare you speak down to us. ‘A gentle tongue can break a bone’ and so can a punch in the face.”
Others shot back with more appropriate Proverbs:
“Proverbs 23:9 Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words.
Proverbs 26:6 He that sendeth a message by the hand of a fool cutteth off the feet, and drinketh damage.
Proverbs 26:8 As he that bindeth a stone in a sling, so is he that giveth honour to a fool.
Proverbs 13:20 He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
Don’t waste your energy on fools Senator.”
“Senator Coburn, you are my senator. I do not want you to sit with Senator Shumer.
Oh, I guess you still aren’t listening.
That being the case I will nominate you for the cutest couple. Glad you are retiring.”
And back to the Bible for my favorite:
“When I think of the oleaginous Schumer, I think the operative verse is Matthew 16:23:
“Get thee behind me, Satan.”
You had better wise up, Mr. Coburn! You’re naivete is about as astounding as that beard you sport
(which is starting to make you look like John Brown–is that really the look you want?).”
Meanwhile, the article slipped from front page to a rabbit hole, as the comments grew more freaked and furious with Coburn.
