The Art of Freeloading
by Pat_S on February 13, 2011A post by Pat Recent reports that Obamacare will result in the loss of 800,000 jobs are misleading and Media Matters wants to point out the truth. Those 800,000 workers will voluntarily choose not to work because health care will cost less or even be free for them courtesy of the government. In other words, those jobs won’t be killed, just the incentive to work. Nancy Pelosi expected it. Pelosi’s Pampered Artists The millions of people who work to pay all their bills can pick up the tab. 800,000 Fewer Workers ‘The freedom to choose not to get a job’ Speaking Thursday before the House Budget Committee, the Congressional Budget Office director estimated that ObamaCare will cause the labor force...

A Tammy Update
by Tammy on February 12, 2011Well, what an adventure! CPAC 2011 ended today, and was my first experience at the conference for conservatives. There’s lots to report and I will have both “Palin Report” and “Weekend Update” podcasts for you Sunday evening. I do want to say what a thrill it was to finally meet so many peeps I had only had the pleasure of knowing in cyberspace. That, I have to say, was probably the highlight of the conference for me. Oh, except for seeing Rep. Allen West for the first time since his victory in November 2010. He came up to Bloggers Row at CPAC and was instantly mobbed. Here we are together. Is my smile big enough? ;) And then the most...

Atlas Shrugged, the Movie?
by Maynard on February 12, 2011A post by Maynard Ayn Rand is one of those lightning rod names. Speak it aloud and you’ll get a strong reaction, one way or another. But do people really know Rand, or do they just express what they’re supposed to feel? Personally I’m an advocate, but I’ll stop short of being an acolyte. Rand was a genius, and she said what needed to be said; things that others had neither the courage nor the articulation to express. If you haven’t been exposed to Rand, you’re missing a fundamental piece of the puzzle. However, she had her blind spots. To rely too heavily on Rand’s philosophy to the complete exclusion of others seems to me unrealistic. To understand Rand more...

My Resignation from GOProud
by Tammy on February 12, 2011Hi everyone, I want to let you know that after being a supporter and serving as Chair of the Advisory Board since May of 2010, I gave Chris Barron and Jimmy LaSalvia my resignation Saturday night. If you search GOProud here at the blog you’ll see the affection with which I’ve held both Chris and Jimmy, and I wish them well. As Independent Conservatives and Tea Party patriots, we have a lot of work to do in the next two years taking our great nation back, and I do look forward to continuing to work with conservatives across the spectrum on the issues with which we all have in common.

A Tammy Note About CPAC
by Tammy on February 10, 2011UPDATE 2/11: Well, I’m in DC. The flight went well but upon landing found the airline was missing my Tammy Radio equipment case. I decided to not flip out and chilled, knowing that there was nothing I could do about it. Thank goodness I kept the main laptop with my regular luggage but was so proud of myself for getting a new hard case for the new equipment we got for this adventure. The solution next time will be to ship the equipment ahead of time. Just a few hour ago I learned, thank goodness, they found the case…wait for it…in Los Angeles. It never left town. LOL! So they’re sending it out and I’m hoping to have it here...
