Unapproved Consquences of FDA Approval
by Pat_S on March 13, 2011A post by Pat An inexpensive synthetic form of the hormone progesterone was used for decades without FDA approval in hormone replacement therapy and more recently as a drug to reduce the risk of premature delivery. It was custom made inexpensively by compounding pharmacies and sold for around $15 per injection. After winning FDA exclusive approval, KV Pharmaceuticals will now be charging $1,500 per injection. The company never incurred R&D costs. It has not yet performed any clinical trials normally required by the FDA. The company is profiteering from an FDA policy to get rid of unapproved drugs. Bravo! Unions Lose in Wisconsin; Senate Passes Bill
by Tammy on March 9, 2011They did it without the Fleebaggers by stripping certain financial elements from the bill which required a super majority. Without those provisions the Republicans were able to carry on with business. Prior to this, Governor Walker had offered several compromises to the Fleebaggers in an effort to get them to return and do their jobs. That overture was rejected, leaving the adults in Wisconsin no alternative. This will continue to unfold but here’s the current coverage.
