Class Envy
by Pat_S on April 23, 2011Perhaps the Kohler ad for their new $6,400 toilet will inspire a DNC ad: if the rich have money to throw into a toilet, it might as well be the government.

Obama Admin: It’s Illegal to Relocate to a Business-Friendly State
by Maynard on April 22, 2011A post by Maynard. This report caught my eye: Can federal bureaucrats tell a private company where to build a factory? Members of President Obama’s National Labor Relations Board think they can. In a decision that even the New York Times is describing as “highly unusual for the federal government,” Lafe Solomon, who was appointed to the board by Obama, filed a complaint on behalf of the NLRB on Wednesday seeking to force the Boeing Co. to build an assembly line in Washington state instead of South Carolina. The NLRB action stems from Boeing’s October 2009 decision to build a new factory for its new 787 Dreamliner airplane near Charleston, S.C. Boeing first sought to build the new plant near...

Remembering Good Friday
by Artgal on April 22, 2011“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” -John 3:16 As believers all around the world gather to reflect on the crucifixion of Jesus this Good Friday, may we be humbled in the knowledge that a perfect, sinless man, who was God in the flesh, bore the ultimate price for us all – and He did it all out of love for us. His beating was so severe...

Good Friday Notes and Open Thread
by Tammy on April 22, 2011Hi everyone, I hope you’re having a beautiful Good Friday and have a relaxing weekend planned. I am taking today off and so Tammy Radio will be a “Best Of.” Yesterday’s “3rd Hour” became a casualty of my arriving much later than expected at my Easter destination making it quite impossible. There will be, however, fresh radio for this Easter weekend as I will be doing the “Palin Report” and “Weekend Update” tomorrow for us. The blog will be updated regularly with NewsWire updates and I would love to see more TAMWire links as well. We are working to get Comments enabled with both of those elements in the near future so you can comment on the various linkage. So...

Atlas Shrugging
by Maynard on April 21, 2011A post by Maynard. A few additional words about the Atlas Shrugged film, which opened last week in selected theaters. Seems that the film has done well in terms of per theater traffic. The power of Ayn Rand devotees have impressed some Hollywood distribution executives, who took note of the hefty $5,640 per-theater average scored by Atlas Shrugged: Part 1 during its opening weekend. “Shocking,” one executive said about the healthy business the low-budget film has been doing considering its “awful” marketing plan. With encouraging sales, this week’s distribution is expanded to 423 theaters. Check your local listings. (To be clear, AS is not likely to become a runaway blockbuster or anything of the sort. But, with its tight budget...
