Tammy – I would like to offer a suggestion for the best ‘course’ on Art History you will find: the book ‘Art: A New History’ by Paul Johnson.
Johnson is one of my favorite historians, and he is a big fan of Palin! It is still a good idea to have other reading materials on specific artists or bodies of work you admire for further research, but Johnson’s book is rich with beautiful detail, focused on historical context and keen observations about the vast spectrum of art’s impact on the world. With chapter titles such as “The Rise of Creative Individualism Under Christianity”, “Painting the American World and Its Wonders” or ending the book with “The Dangers and Opportunities of Twenty-first Century Art”, it’s clearly going to be a thought-provoking journey.
I highly recommend the book! It’s part of my personal library – along with Plath’s writings ;) though I much prefer the poetry work of Emily Dickinson. Dickinson’s work has been an enormous influence on some of my own artwork.
Thanks, Artgal, I have just ordered this book from Amazon. In the ideal world, I would have been an artist, but I thought about my need to support myself and became a dentist instead! I do dabble in–and teach–mosaics now and it keeps the creative juices flowing. Not to mention the sheer joy in helping others express themselves through art.

Hanging out at the Tammy 3rd hour cafe’…
There’s no jukebox here, just freshly brewed podcasts for the listening pleasure of the patrons. That grizzled lookin’,demin-wearing, Hot Rod drivin’, bandana sportin’ dude, drinking black coffee and chain-smoking Camels at the far end of the counter? Day One TAM, works at the Petsmart down the road, next to the Best Buy.
The Romney PP presentation wasn’t shown on the C-SPAN broadcast. Mittenz kept looking up to his right, we couldn’t see the slides he was refering to as he spoke. I downloaded it, but it really needed slide sound effects, as they transition.(Like a swoosh, maniacal laughter, cowbell, or something…)
Also the PP presentation needed a gag slide(cat hanging from limb with the ‘hang in there’ caption) or some animation/music video/vacation slides about 2/3′s the way through to wake up all the people with their chins in their hands,on their crack-berries or doodling on the free, but tiny 10 sheet notepads(like the ones you get in motels)
Today’s word power word: Thingamajigger- Anything thing,component,part, piece,item etc…that you cannot remember the name for.
Example: “That’s it right there!! this ”THINGAMAJIGGER” (pointing furiously…)
Used in a sentence: “Excuse me but your THINGAMAJIGGER is hanging out!!!”

Great third hour, Tammy! We are on a roll this week…all Tammy, all week…woohoo!!! Anyway, I checked a Facebook page dedicated to the people who lost their lives on Air France #447…the two co-pilots were both French…names are David Robert, age 37, and Pierre-Cedric Bonin, age 32. May they all rest in peace.
I woke this morning and went directly to c4pS website and seen your photo up and i clicked in and i just wanted to say that the fat is most assurdedly in the fire now Tammy. Way to go.In dreamville i see you in a new Palin administration as her Chief of Staff oh if dreams could only come true.I betcha you would be besides yourself if it were so.The stars are all lineing up in Americas favor,first time i beleive since our first president…

Michael Ramirez – Political Cartoonist-
Thanks Barbara, I have drawn her several times. The one that immediately comes to mind was when McCain selected her as the VP at the Gop convention. I was there when she delivered that incredible speech and the cartoon reflected that. It showed an elephant holding a McCain-Palin sign and the McCain portion was ripped off leaving just the Palin part. I am proud to say we at IBD had a lengthy discussion with then Gov Palin on energy months before her name came up. She was thorough and had a depth of knowledge on the subject. In all of my nearly 6 decades i cant remember being this excited about the possibilities that the future holds i beleive that we all are in the grip of forces unseen in other words the big guy upstairs and Gov. Palin will be playing the next stanza of this opera.I recommend the left and established rinos have life support on standby maybe a truckload of soothing ointment to eleviate pain They will need it I see into the future and I do see Tammy standing in that room with the new administration.Along wih others that beleive that america is the greatest country thi planet has ever known and will continue to be…
