Obligatory Anthony Weiner Thread
by Tammy on June 6, 2011I’ve deliberated avoided wading into this sewer, but obviously now it has to be dealt with. After Weiner’s confessional press conference, I’ve spent the last hour listening to certain talking heads on CNN explain how this really has nothing to do with anything because nothing illegal happened. David Frum went so far as to explain that this was especially not worth addressing because of the fiscal crisis we’re in. In other words, there are more important issues to deal with. Newsflash for Frum: perhaps this nation is in the condition it’s in specifically because of the reckless, self-obsessed nature of the establishment’s politicians. Believing they’re above it all, that government is everything and the only thing that matters, and that...

Tea Party Chief Says They’d Support Romney
by Tammy on June 5, 2011I’ve had the pleasure of speaking with Amy Kremer, head of Tea Party Express, on a number of occasions and have been included in some of their Tea Party rallies. I respect her, and she’s a smart, savvy woman. I also think I know what she’s doing here. At least I hope so. My initial reaction upon hearing her comments was, to put it mildly, surprise, but then I realized a few things. While I do agree that we *must* get rid of Obama (obviously), replacing him with Obama-lite will only mean that we’ve chosen a more comfortable, slower way to destroy the country and that we’ve given up on saving her. I do think Kremer’s remarks are not a...

Fabulous! Romney Believes in Man-Made Global Warming
by Tammy on June 3, 2011All I have for you is the facepalm/headshake. Obviously, none of us should be surprised, but I would like to be wrong even just every now and then about how completely screwed up/liberal/clueless/disconnected the Republican establishment is. “The world is getting warmer”: Romney Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney broke with Republican orthodoxy on Friday by saying he believes that humans are responsible, at least to some extent, for climate change. “I believe the world is getting warmer, and I believe that humans have contributed to that,” he told a crowd of about 200 at a town hall meeting in Manchester, New Hampshire. “It’s important for us to reduce our emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases that may be significant contributors.”

Indiana Defies Feds, Will Continue to Defund Planned Parenthood
by Tammy on June 2, 2011Good for Mitch Daniels. No one else in the world listens to or cares about what Urkel thinks or wants, why should anyone else? The man is a menace, his administration’s policies are both incompetent and depraved, and if we’re going to stop the destruction, all of us have to stand up to the SOB. Now if only Congress would do the same thing. Background: Administration blocks Indiana’s efforts to cut Planned Parenthood funding Indiana Defies Federal Government on Planned Parenthood Republican Gov. Mitch Daniels signed a law in May that would cut off federal funding from Indiana clinics that perform abortions. The law is primarily aimed at the state’s Planned Parenthood clinics, which get federal family planning grants to...
