Tentative Debt Deal Reached?
by Tammy on July 30, 2011**NOTE: Scroll down for updates** Welcome to another episode of As the Kabuki Theatre Turns. According to numerous reports it appears as ‘tentative deal’ between Congress and Urkel has emerged. Isn’t it amazing that they come up with it just before the episode ends? I am more and more inclined to think this is exactly the outcome arranged fr4om the beginning within the establishment and the absurdity of the last 2 weeks (if not 30 years) has all been elaborate and well-rehearsed theatre. The deal also seems to be exactly what I have been predicting for weeks–meaningless. It will raise the debt ceiling by the August 2 deadline, includes the probability of tax increases and will maintain the status quo...

Protecting Cat/Dog Food from Ants
by Maynard on July 30, 2011Maynard’s helpful hint… Darnit, I’m feeding the cat, not the anthill! I’ve just tried one of these food bowls with a moat (to be filled with water or molten lead, whichever is available), and it seems to be working. The one I’ve got here is this Lixit 8-inch bowl. It’s inexpensive and American-made. The inner bowl is about 7 inches across, but the moat gives the entire platter an 11-inch diameter. My Internet purchase from PPE Pet Supplies was processed quickly. Here’s another choice, available on Amazon. This 2-compartment Bergan Bowl costs more and is larger, but people seem happy with it. I believe this is also of domestic manufacture. Ant attacks are mainly a concern when cats are fed...

Sessions Slams Obama on Senate Floor: ‘The President Thinks It’s All About Him!’
by Tammy on July 29, 2011Yes, there are still a few good men who have been on the hill for quite some time. Few and far between, and Senator Sessions is the best example. It is possible to remain a decent person who loves this country *and* be a politician. You can follow @SenatorSessions on Twitter. From FoxNation: Here is the complete video where Senator Sessions also defends Tea Party. Sessions: “Tea Party Didn’t Start This Fire, They Sounded The Alarm”

Public Podcast: Rep. Allen West
by Tammy on July 28, 2011It was my pleasure today to speak once again on Tammy Radio with Rep. Allen West of Florida’s 22nd District. As we’re embroiled in the debt ceiling fight, Rep. West raised some eyebrows by ultimately supporting Rep. Boehner’s bill which many conservatives feel is not fiscally conservative enough. Rep. West makes a good case on why he’s supporting it along with an analysis of the Big Picture. Take a listen and see what you think. We also discuss the Weapons to Egypt issue and how things are looking for his district and re-election next year. If you enjoy media such as this, please do subscribe–becoming a member is what makes all my work possible. In addition to the weekly “Palin...

Dang It, Who Told Americans About the Debt?
by Pat_S on July 28, 2011UPDATED — SEE BELOW Salon laments that all this focus on the debt is ruining things for libs. The painful price of deficit hysteria Regardless of the outcome of the debt ceiling debate, conservatives have already scored a major victory over liberalism. Even if President Obama emerges from the struggle in stronger political shape than the GOP, the fiscalization of American politics — meaning the focus of debate on deficits and debt — constitutes a powerful blow to liberal Democrats who once hoped that President Obama’s election would herald a new era for their cause. None of this should come as a surprise. Focusing on deficit reduction has been a long-standing strategy for proponents of conservatism ever since modern liberalism...
