Thank God for the Founders and for the divine spark that made this great nation possible. We are reminded every day that her future is in our hands, let’s make sure we make everyone proud. Every morning when I wake up I’m thrilled I’m an American. Working shoulder-to-shoulder with you good people makes each day even more wonderful.

Have a wonderful and beautiful 4th of July holiday everyone.

Thanks for your good wishes, Tammy. I am trying to think positive thoughts on this July 4th weekend. Memories of July 4th celebrations at the Washington Monument (I grew up in DC), grateful to live in this great country. But maybe I should have *not* watched the usual Sunday political shows today, because listening to clips of the Whiner-in-Chief, and then clips from old Meet the Press shows featuring Ronald Reagan, got me really “down.” Trying *not* to think about Thing #1 and Thing #2 in the WH, but this is like walking while trying *not* to think about the pebble in your shoe…. It’s there, and it’s annoying…. OK, I vented, and now I feel better! 🙂 November 2012 cannot come soon enough…. Wishing all a great 4th of July! 🙂

Shifra, I know you know this, but remember to always give our worries to God! That way you can enjoy your Independence Day.

Happy 4th everybody, and God Bless America!!

      • Artgal says:

Excellent reminder, SandyL! I can’t help but think our forefathers were also giving their worries to God as they attached their names to our Declaration of Independence.

Big patriotic hugs and a Happy Fourth to everyone 🙂

“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light” ~ Matthew 11:28-30

This was our Scripture reading at mass this morning. In his Homily the priest said his *take* on these versus was not so much that if you come to and believe in Jesus that ALL your troubles will go away like magic, but that if you do come to Jesus and believe in Him then during your troubled times He will be there and you’ll be able to better find Him when you need Him most. (I thought wow – not only do I need Him, but our country really needs Him now!!)

Our exit hymn was ‘God Bless America’ – very uplifting and such a beautiful way to end mass on this patriotic weekend. What an added treat of getting to forego opening up the hymnal for a change 🙂

      Happy Independence Day Everyone!

Fly the flag everybody! And if you can’t do that, then just hang it on a flagpole.

Like we needed one more reason to drive the leftist crazies out of power. Here it is.

I’m wishing all TAMs a happy and safe 4th of July. Our Nation’s Independence Day. Let’s not forget about all of this Nation’s Sons and Daughter now serving around the world. We all get to go to the beaches, parks, and County Fairs with peace of mind because those brave young people are out there keeping an eye on those who may wish America harm. They’re serving us on this Honorable day doing our business and keeping us safe. Having served overseas during Holidays, I know how deeply lonely they feel. Even with 100’s of battle buddies around you, you’re still not at home with your family. Knowing you are doing this so others don’t have to helps a little bit, but not the same as being with you family.
Tomorrow, many of us will go out to watch the Parades, and feel proud to know, we have the best this Country has produced looking out for you. Then we recall our current administration and fell heart sick because we know, they do not support our troops and can not surrender fast enough.
Stay strong brothers and sisters, We the People suuport you and our thoughts and prayers go out to you. God Bless America and God Bless our Men and Women in uniform.

It’s times like this I like to pretend Time magazine and Harvard don’t exist and try to meditate not only on our Founders but also the pilgrims that came before them seeking freedom to practice their Christianity. We are a nation born of courage and independence and I do thank the our Heavenly Father for allowing me to be an American; to be a teeny part of the greatest nation that has ever existed in all of human history.

But after the fun and celebrations we can get back to fightin’ our demented foes on the Left. 🙂 a little Merle Haggard classic! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHAFmFsb9XM

    Happy Independence Day!

Thanks Tinker, I always loved that song. A lot of feeling in those words.

    • rtoberl says:

Love it! Great song for a Sarah Palin rally! Especially appropriate for going after the Obama bots.

    • ReardenSteel says:

Thanks Tinker, grew up on Merle, Waylon, and Willie in Texas. I admit I tear up every time I hear that song. Didn’t get it as a boy, just thought it was guy who wanted to fight. By God I get it now, and have used that phrase to let people know they’re close to crossing a line with me. They don’t get the reference, but they get the meaning for sure.

Thank God for this country, our veterans, as well as, those currently serving this great nation of ours. We the people will remain focussed on saving this great and remarkable country. We have each other to lean on. Stay strong! Happy 4th, Tammy and all TAMS!

“We hold these truths self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by the Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.”

We have fallen from where these words were uttered by Leaders who were placing their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor on the line to where we have leaders who tell no truths, to masses educated to be oblivious to self-evidence, all in the guise of equality where the opposite is indended.

Damn, what a mess. Still, today we owe it to our founders and forebearers to celabrate that through their hands we have this America to celabrate at all. Tommorow, we must return with new resolve to the hard work of defending America from those who scorn her or have taken her for granted.

Tammy, thanks for handling the need for Truth.

  13. JuanitaDugas says:

Yes, I teared up at the Chipmunks singing “American the Beautiful” at the end of the Palin Report; is this a great country or what? Our national pride and love of country will save us no matter what the haters throw our way. Honoring those who gave us the blueprint; it’s our responsibility to protect it. Happy Independence Day Patriots from this Patrioticheart <3

Happy Independence Day, everyone. We can’t have fireworks here in Maine, so we’re headed to the gravel pit to fire flintlocks and percussion cap rifles (circa Rev War and Civil War era). Probably do a little target practice too. Have a wonderful day. And if you want a real patriotic treat, make red, white and blue deviled eggs. This was my mother’s signature dish for the 4th. She’d prepare just like any other deviled eggs, but before adding the filling she took 1/3 of the egg halves and soaked in blue food coloring (just like doing easter eggs) and 1/3 of the eggs soaked in red food coloring. Obviously she didn’t have to do anything to the white ones. Fill and serve. Lots of fun.

The live presentation just ended on PBS. And without a doubt those were the most spectacular, awe-inspiring, and WOW I have ever seen and I’ve seen my fair share from all the times we saw them in person when I lived in Arlington,Virginia watching from the Iwo Jima Memorial right across the Potomac from the Lincoln Memorial.

    Long Live Little Richard!

    God Bless America!
