Courtesy of Tim Pawlenty. For a man who had such potential, it’s shocking to see such a meltdown. The tone of this ad is bad enough–verging on a fake optimistic-whiny-begging talk, but consider the content. This is the second time he’s touted that he “shut down the government” as though that’s a good thing to do. While we shouldn’t be afraid of doing that if we’re being held hostage by the left, the fact is we’d prefer someone who can actually govern, persuade and lead.

The amazing thing, however, is the intent of the ad, asking us to “Prove the experts wrong” about him. What?! So here’s the candidate promoting the idea that experts don’t think he can do the job. I realize we’re anti-establishment, but really, why introduce that idea to people? What experts? When? For many it’ll be the first time they’ve heard this. Amazing. Considering his poll numbers I think this reveals the panic that must be engulfing his team.

Oh, he’s also now trying to walk back his criticism on Bachmann. Dude, part of being a leader is taking a stand and standing there.

Like him or not, he’s the only one who has put forth a viable economic plan (that I know of). I agree that he needs to stick to his guns more. He could learn a lot from Allen West.

    • Tammy says:

Yes, I think that seems, right now at least, to be his problem. ironically enough his book was “Courage to Stand.” Jeez.

    • ShArKy666 says:

palin has had an economic plan too, for years now…i think you can find it by just watching all her interviews…but the obvious one would be SLASH taxes across the board & eliminate most, stop subsidizing stupid crap, stomp govt back in it’s box like the monster it is, so the private sector can get back to work…it’s not brainsurgery, and realy when you think about it, these things don’t even have to be spoken..people act like economic plans are so friggin complicated….well they’re so OBVIOUS it’s funny to me that people have to make them that way.

Nowhere near as bad as Demon Sheep.

He says he “Turned a liberal state Conservative”, yet, MN elected democrat Mark Dayton as his successor. Gov. Dayton ALSO shut the state government down, but, nobody is calling that an accomplishment. And attacking Michelle Bachman for a medical condition? What was he thinking? Especially when even a blind man could see that Mrs. Bachman has a following about as loyal as Sarah does.
G’bye Tim! You and Jon Huntsman can console each other.

    Bruno Pawlenty!

See, now doesn’t that name make him seem like a more forceful, bold and viable candidate? I think his name may be holding him back.

Bad Theme, Bad Production, Bad Script, Just Bad.

Not being an ‘expert’ on political ads but speaking from the point of view of ‘production values’ this looks and feels ‘cheap’, bad music, poor editing and the script is lame; put together in about 4 hours(max)

    1) The Sports Event is the American win over the Russians at the Lake Placid Olympics from 30 years ago and that was the semi-final win, not the final against Finland when the Gold Medal was actually won. (But we beat the Dirty Red Commies!)

    2) What age demographic is he appealing to putting a 30 year old clip up from 1980?
Who really remembers that unless you’re a Hockey Fan or your Grandfather tells you.

“Glory Days” by Springsteen comes to mind. Sad.

Now since Romney is signed up for all the debates up to the one 10/18, I predict
he will last at least that long, but then…gone. No money, no poll numbers, no nothing.

One more thing: Did you hear that Former Louisana Governor Buddy Roemer announced
he’s running for the Republican nomination for President? Right, a President whose
first name is “Buddy”, yeah THAT’s going to happen! “Can I call you “Buddy” Mr.President?” Jeez/Geez

    Ciao’

    • FrankRemley says:

Yeah, that Buddy Roemer is a great one. Served one term as governor of Louisiana and finished third in his bid for re-election behind crook Edwin Edwards and racist David Duke. What a guy.

      • dennisl59 says:

I wonder if he’ll post his favorite receipe for jambalaya on his
website? No wait, there’s be videos of ‘Buddy’s Kitchen’ with him in an apron cookin’ his home-style dishes while he talks about Border Security and how he loves Israel.

  6. wodiej says:

He’s only polling about 5%. He’s on his way out.

  7. naga5 says:

i’m sorry, guys. is pawlenty running for something?

  8. Artgal says:

When I see an ad start off with hockey footage, Pawlenty is not the first person who comes to mind. Perhaps this is his ‘compulsion to confess’ moment (meaning he knows someone else is more capable to lead than him) or perhaps, he is now going to try billing himself as a hockey mom.

    • flaggman says:

Perhaps he could be the next President of Canada ;)

    • Tinker says:

And not just any hockey footage, the hockey footage of all hockey footage. The Miracle on Ice, 1980 USA Olympic team beating the commies, I consider too sacred to use in stupid political ads.

      • Tinker says:

Looks like my instincts were more correct than I thought. LOL! ABC Sports is about to send a cease and desist to T-paw.

        • dennisl59 says:

Goes to prove that T-Paw’s staff are a bunch of amateurs too.
They thought the use, a ‘copyrighted’ video from the most famous Hockey Game in American Sports history, without clearances wouldn’t be noticed. Wrong. To me, this is a MAJOR snafu. It’s probably the PR outfit they hired that made the mistake. If they or the staff person that gave the go ahead aren’t replaced, that will reflect on T-Paw also.

  9. I am starting to think all or any of Tpaw’s so called accomplishments were merely the result of a mushy politician solely relying on his advisers. He doesn’t strike me at all as a person who thinks for himself. He displays zero conviction in any statements I have ever heard him mutter. I wonder who will be the lucky candidate to gain his impressive 1% following when he bails.

  10. ShArKy666 says:

this guy’s ALWAYS been a joke…and a total whimp, u can look and hear him talk and just know he’s a pushover..when this fool came out with a book that was called the exact OPPOSITE of what reality realy was at that time..i new he was a loser….NNNNNNNNNEXT
