Smug Ed Schultz Forced to Admit Huge Blunder About News Corp.
by Tammy on July 15, 2011Over at Newsbusters you can see the degree to which NBC/MSNBC will go in furthering the White House’s War on Fox News. Their post is excellent and highlights what happens when you see only what you want to see. After running a breathless segment on how News Corp is profiting from tax refunds, they found out the truth was, uh, the opposite. Here’s the less-smug Schultz correction, but follow this link for the whole story: We’d like to make a correction. Last night we told you News Corp. received $4.8 billion in tax refunds over four years, 2007 through 2010. The information from a Reuters article by David Cay Johnson was inaccurate. But…But… I Thought Social Security Was Solvent
by Pat_S on July 12, 2011What’s this I hear? If the government can’t borrow more money as of Aug 2nd the President cannot guarantee Social Security checks will be issued on Aug 3rd? I thought the debt ceiling was about paying past debt obligations. More importantly, I’ve been seeing Democrats for years insisting the Social Security system is solvent. I saw one just two days ago.
