A Hollywood film about Thatcher. What could go wrong? As I noted on Tammy Radio, there’s something very wrong with this trailer as it seems to make Thatcher a cartoon. As someone over at Hot Air put it, Streep is delivering Mrs. Doubtfire not Mrs. Thatcher.

Horrid. I will not be watching this.
The little stpuid grin at the end, nope. Makes her look petty and childish.
Whoever begged(on both knees) for Meryl Streep to play Lady Thatcher should be ejected from any professional guild. She does not ‘fit’ the part(see 0:39-0:46) I’ll even go a step further to guess that this so called ‘movie’ will make a mockery of Thatcher. Basic IMDB research reveals the Director has only done 4 movies, the Writer has a very thin portfolio, a budget of 13 million, Made in England by people with an axe to grind(rank speculation, of course). Having said that, if someone(with real credentials) were willing to make an honest, true to life documentary about her, that would be another thing altogether. I won’t be paying money to see this one. Pass.
I would have preferred a British or Australian actress- Cate Blanchett I am thinking would have been great.
REALLY? That’s the best they could do? I love Meryl Streep but I’m not feeling it!
“Method” acting. And of course Streep’s method is to ‘feel’ her inner liberal disgust with the subject, and thus bring it out to more effectively portray Thatcher accordingly.
Great, another oikophobia moment…
Oikophobia — fear and hatred of one’s own culture and people. It has brought down civilizations since there have been civilizations. The negativity and self-loathing of modern Hollywood is the machine that would like to bring down our nation. I haven’t been to a theater in years because of this. BTW Odumb’ya should of kept his pearls on!
And used in a sentence: The Dumb Bastard’s oikophobia is so severe, that he is destroying the American Economy and Way of Life.
