by Pat_S on August 26, 2011Cow Escapes Slaugtherhouse, Persuades Famous Radio/TV Personality To Become Vegetarian. Bella the cow was on her way to the slaughterhouse when the hauler driver lost control and crashed. Today Bella lives in pastoral bliss with her son, Mr. Rogers. A heartwarming tale that contrasts the ugly cruelty endured by commercial livestock and the beauty of human compassion. If you missed today’s broadcast, DO NOT miss the podcast. She was one of 26 cows in a hauler that overturned after its driver lost control in the early hours of July 22, 2010. Must Watch: NatGeo’s George W. Bush–The 9/11 Interview
by Tammy on August 26, 2011You know my mixed feelings about President Bush, the negative primarily about the last 2 years in the White House. I will, however, be forever grateful for his immediate and long-term reaction to 9/11, and although I am furious with him over various political and policy decisions, I am sure this is a decent, good man who loves our country. You heard it in his voice then, and you hear it now. I’ve avoided many 9/11 shows and the movies. As we approach the 10 year mark, it remains still so difficult. Yet, this is an interview and special I will be watching, in no small part because of my gratitude to President Bush and to be able to have...

UK: OTC Painkiller Replaced By Anti-Psychotic Drugs
by Pat_S on August 26, 2011The investigation is still going on but the suspicion is deliberate tampering. The antipsychotic Seroquel XL was inside packets of Nurofen Plus which can be purchased without a prescription. Three packets have been found in south London but up to 16,000 packets could be affected. Seroquel XL is prescription only and used to treat such illnesses as schizophrenia, mania and bipolar depression. British health authorities issue warning after drugs mix-up <blockquote>A spokesman for the regulatory agency told CNN it could not rule out sabotage, but at the moment believed it was an issue to do with the packaging of drugs by wholesalers rather than a manufacturing problem. “We haven’t ruled out sabotage as of yet, but the investigation is still...

Shuttle Investigation Report – No Political Influence
by Pat_S on August 26, 2011It’s one big stomp on Houston. The investigation is over. Houston in the Republican state of Texas doesn’t get one of the shuttles. The four retired shuttles go to CA, NY, FL and D.C. stand. Selections were based on how many people would be able to see the spacecrafts. Association with the shuttle program was not a consideration. NASA Administrator Charles Bolden said the Houston Space Center had relatively low attendance rates and provided significantly lower international access than the locations selected. NASA’s inspector general specifically states: TexMessage: NASA okays process used to award retired space shuttles We found no evidence that the (decision review) team’s recommendation or the administrator’s decision were tainted by political influence or any other improper...

Public Podcast: Jamie Radtke Intv About RedState 8-25-11
by Tammy on August 25, 2011I was pleased to have Jamie Radtke on my show again today so you could hear directly from her about what has led to the events of the last few days involving attacks on her by Erick Erickson and RedState. I have decided to make the interview a public podcast so it can be as clear as possible that we are now seeing what tactic the Establishment will use against Tea Party candidates, using their staff tools embedded in the ‘conservative’ blogosphere. For my original interview with Jamie earlier this month, please click here. Additional coverage: C4P: Erick Erickson’s Virginia Senate Flip Flop Undermines ‘Badge of Honor’ Talk Riehl World View: The Radtke vs. Erickson Time-Line The Other McCain: Radtke,...

Border Protection Nabs World’s Most Dangerous Pest
by Pat_S on August 25, 2011I marvel at the government’s diligence and tenacity in keeping things and people who don’t belong in the country from staying here. If necessary, Customs and Border Protection will examine every grain of rice coming into this country to stop the world’s most dangerous pest from entering. That would be the Khapra beetle, a tiny insect that can destroy crops. Customs inspectors in Baltimore keep pests out The sweet aroma of rice fills the air as David Ng steps forward in a Southeast Baltimore warehouse to inspect a shipment of hundreds of sacks of imported basmati rice. He folds back the stitched seams of the 40-pound burlap sacks holding grain that have traveled halfway around the world to Baltimore’s Seagirt...

Steve Jobs Resigns as Apple CEO
by Tammy on August 24, 2011As an Apple person I’m especially distressed by this. I consider Jobs the tech equivalent of Walt Disney. Only one ever comes along and it’s not a talent that can be simply taught. I got a “Macintosh” in the mid-late 80s and it was the first computer that really got me engaged in the possibilities. My thanks to Steve Jobs for changing everything. I trust he’s taking care of his health, which is a good thing. Steve Jobs resigns as Apple CEO Apple chief executive Steve Jobs, who almost single-handedly changed the way people around the world consume music, the Internet and even TV, announced late Wednesday that he has resigned as leader of the company he co-founded in his...
