Imagine you’re voting in the Iowa caucus. Who is your choice?

UPDATE: The poll is over. Thanks to everyone for participating.

I am disappointed to say that there were some ‘irregularities’ when it came to the votes. It became apparent this evening that what could only have been a machine response, programmed to deliver multiple votes from different IPs (thousands within minutes), had been active in the poll. All of those automated votes went to Palin. I have to say, prior to this she was leading, so we’ll never know what the true result of our little caucus would have been. If whoever did this had just trusted in the normal process you very well may have gotten your preferred result.

Given all this, Newt Gingrich came in a respectable second without being the beneficiary of shenanigans so I am considering him the winner of this poll. I included Palin, by the way, as a courtesy to those devoted Palinistas working on a write-in campaign for her in Iowa. A genuine surprise here with numbers that were not cooked: the Santorum surge happened here as well with him landing at #2, Romney coming in at #3 (and for TAMs, that’s impressive) and Bachmann last, behind Huntsman. Hmm…

Thanks again everyone. Believe me, I’ve learned a lesson with this poll and we’ll take precautions next time to make sure shenanigans don’t happen again.

1. Sarah Palin*

1. Newt Gingrich

2. Rick Santorum

3. Mitt Romney

4. Rick Perry

5. Ron Paul

6. Huntsman

7. Bachmann

  1. […] Finally, I would like to thank Legal Insurrection, The Other McCain,Hot Air, and The Anchoress for their kind links and/or support of last year. I would also like to Thank Tammy Bruce for her kind mentions — and tell everyone to join the T…. […]

I live in Iowa, and I still can’t decide. Where’s Sarah when we need her?

Could I imagine I was married to Katy Perry for 14 months and will get $20 million bucks in the divorce for my ‘trouble’ with that instead Tammy?

While I voted for Gingrich, I still would have preferred Palin but I’m not going to expend any more energy this year even making a wishful thinking vote for someone who has made it clear they’re not running for whatever reason.

Why would some loser stack the deck on this blog’s informal poll? Are you sure it’s a TAM and not part of the OccupyHoles effort to mess with the polls?

It’s disgusting to see Santorum’s surge. People who are pumping him up need to really think about what they’re doing because they will drive boatloads of voters to vote Obama. I could see myself doing likewise to give a middle finger to the GOP for screwing themselves and this country over this bad by actually putting this theo-crat forward.

Aw man…that sucks Tammy (sorry for the language)! I guess looking at the bright side….the poll wasnt taken over by the Paulbots!
Even though I know Palin has made up her mind, the troublemaker in me (shocking I know….sweet lil ol me with a troublemaker in me…LOL) thinks it would be great if she won the caucus just to “muck up the works” and mess with the “know it alls”! The caucus would be a good place for it since no delegates are actually assigned from it! #JustSayin!

Some of the Palinistas are beginning to look, act, and sound like the Paulbots. That won’t help Gov. Palin in any of her endeavors. Using a computer program to stuff the ballot box of an online poll is completely nuts. It destroys the purpose of the poll and doesn’t give you an accurate picture. How can you make a plan to go forward, if you don’t know where you really are?

I see the poll is closed but is it too late to vote for Pecos Perry? We get free Gradasil with very order of fries.

  8. vitadMD says:

Why would someone do that? It negates the poll, though I didn’t get the chance to vote. Doesn’t even seem like something one of us would do… inconsistent.

Using a “captcha” may avoid this problem in the future.

Every time I listen to Newt talk, I like him more. I know what he did with DeDe, what he said about Palin, the marriages, is always on my mind, but when he talks about what needs to be done I get hopeful. Living in CA, I don’t agree with him about immigration but I think we can keep him in line(hope). In my gut I think we need someone that knows history b/c Obama doesn’t, at all. I don’t know what to think about Palin, I don’t think about her in the same way but I would vote for her. I keep praying and doing what I can for our country, Thank God we get to do that!!!!

      i agree jeanee!

jeanee, I agree completely. I find it hard to forget about Newt’s liberal ways, but he does also have a record of conservatism. Most importantly for me–he has ACTUAL IDEAS!!! Good ideas/bad ideas, they are still ideas, and I too hope that we can keep him inline. Someone needs to take it directly to Obama, and the only one doing that right now is Newt. He is calling him a Saul Alinsky radical, a socialist, etc. The others are wetting their pants at calling Obama what he really is–a Dumb Communist Bastard.

In another post on this blog, I said that if Newt is pandering he is doing it right, because I believe he is the only one who realizes that the dynamics in this country have changed. He seems to be hearing the grassroots’ screams, and he knows what to say. I too pray that he is realizing what we knew in 2008/09, and he wants to save this country. With all his warts, I do believe he loves this country the way it was founded, and we know Obama doesn’t.

As for Palin, I will always love her as the great leader she is and could be, but it is always in God’s Hands. He will not fail the faithful. If we can keep the faith, we will always be on the right-eous path.

hi tammy….i voted for a palin write in with the thought in my head “would this be a wasted vote?” after i heard that interview she did with fox recently, i dunno what’s happened to her..it sounded kinda like she got hit on the head with a caribou leg bone or ate some bad meat cos she’s just seemed to have lost it for me now..maybe ur rite about the TV thing, but it’s so disappointing that the sarah of a year ago seems gone…at least from public view on some level…i feel like shaking her and sayin…”IS THE REAL SARAH PALIN WE ALL KNOW N LOVE STILL IN THERE??”

I remain SO torn about the remaining choices that I had selected one, then changed (but not submitted) a different one — then the thing “accepted my submission” w/o me clicking anything. 🙁 Bugs.

I continue to enjoy the interaction though 🙂
