On the heels of Obama’s State of the Union tonight, here are ads for the Gingrich and Romney campaigns. This first one is from a Super PAC supporting Gingrich and may be the best ad I’ve seen in years, succinct and clear in its attachment of Romney to Obama and the monster of ObamaCare. It is truly damaging and uses Romney’s own words (and actions) against him.

Follow that up with Romney’s new ad, using the SOTU address and the actual state of our union to go after Obama.

From the Gingrich Super PAC:

Romney’s “The Real State of the Union:”

I look at this Romney ad and think about how they’re trying to connect him with “the people.” It didn’t work well at least for those of us inspired by Palin’s ads which set the benchmark for sincerity and really connecting with people. The differences between Romney and Palin are stark, in the message and even just in the excitement and enthusiasm that surrounds them. Just a reminder…

Loved the Gingrich Super PAC ad. $6 million buy in FL. According to other posts PAC is pushing limits of laws as it will be shadow campaign operation for Newt, bringing organization to his campaign. Interesting moves.

Still get chills watching the SarahPac Tea Party video. Newt may just pull this thing off with SuperPac backing! Thank goodness for successful capitalists who share their wealth to boost Newt’s struggling campaign and hopefully help save our country.

Both Newt and Mitt have done excellent ads. But all that is needed is Sarah talking about what she loves and believes in to make a revolution.

Newt has been praising Sarah way before she withdrew. Is he the Trojan Horse for Palin? I know she means what she says but what will happen if we have a brokered convention as Dick Army predicts?

The GOP establishment will force Mitch Daniels down our throats if there is a brokered convention. I’m a stalwart Sarah Palin supporter, but I’m getting tired of politics now and just getting fed up with everything.

Ha! Otlset, that’s funny! I sympathize with the fatigue. The last mental picture I have of Mich Daniels is the one with that huge bandage on his face after running into a door, the broken arm in a sling, and explaining how his wife won’t let him run. Yes, GOP, hitch your wagon to that stalwart bucket of guts!

Newt’s commercial is great. Mitt’s would be great if it was Sarah Palin delivering it, but he comes off as completely disingenuous. His scumbag campaign team beat her up in the back alley, then reached into her pocket and took her wallet. I can’t remember how many times I’ve heard her words come out of his mouth already. Disgusting. The end of his ad here is a complete ripoff of Sarah, and that just makes me mad! But he’ll get his in the end, karma’s a bitch.

Someone posted a TAM link to this analysis by Thomas Sowell. It doesn’t say anything we haven’t heard before, but it’s a succinct and fair summary. It concludes with these words:

Whichever candidate the Republican voters finally choose from this year’s field, they are bound to have reservations, if not fears. Gingrich’s worst could be worse than Romney’s worst, both as a candidate and as a president. But Gingrich’s best is much better than Romney’s best.

Sometimes caution can be carried to the point where it is dangerous. When the Super Bowl is on the line, you don’t go with the quarterback who is least likely to throw an interception. You go with the one most likely to throw a touchdown pass.

I’m glad there’s a contest. Whoever comes out on top, I think he’ll make a better candidate for having had to fight for it; for not having been anointed.

Thanks for re-posting the Tea Party ad from Sarah Pac. I still get chills thinking about the love for our great nation. It’s not hero worship; it’s the love of the nation that is reflected in her words and deeds. It excites me! I don’t hear it in Romney’s voice at all. I do hear it in Newt’s. It’s just that simple.

Woo Hoo! Run Sarah Run, Run Sarah Run….Oooooh that’s right – NEVERMIND :-(

I see the GOP field that we have and then I see Sarah Palin.

That image of Mitt at the end of the first ad reminds me of Frank Langella as Dracula. Anybody check Newt’s trunk for garlic and wooden stakes?
