As I noted on Tammy Radio, while I have the utmost respect for Ambassador Bolton this does not move me into feeling compelled to endorse Romney myself, but it sure will make it easier to do so if he’s the last man standing. From Greta’s show on Fox News last night:

“Conservative enough for me.” We have to be realistic. What’s possible and what isn’t. Romney isn’t the perfect conservative. But if he’s ultimately the candidate, he’ll have to be conservative enough for all of us who want to see BO defeated.

Someday we’ll have a candidate that is genuinely conservative-through and through- and not just “conservative enough”. (And it will be one that doesn’t end up pulling the rug out from under us.) But until then… .

I know I’m in the minority now on the blog as far as being able to say that I’m ready for Romney (if that’s how it goes). If I focus on what he is saying NOW–I’m hard pressed to find much to disagree with. So I’m going to take him at his word NOW and give him a chance. If he should become President and then NOT follow through on his promises, then that will be another story. And he’ll be a one termer, just like BO.

    • Now there is a proposition that I can at least find comfort in, and that is to primary and defeat Romney in 2016. I respect yours and others view to vote for Mitt out a sincere need to defeat BO at all costs. I think I maybe more worried about the long term effects of not holding the GOP accountable and keeping things biz as usual.

On the flip side if O gets a second term, then just think of the supper majorities we will get in the congress in 2014:)

If Mitt is to be the one, then I guess the best scenario to hope for is for him to win with the smallest voter turn out and margin possible. That would at least send a message to him and the GOP to watch their step.

and one other tid bit: It’s sad that in this day and age, that TV ads are still what trumps message. The fact that millions are still being spent on ads, and that TV ads at all can sway huge portions of primary voters is truly sad. What with all the internet web tubes and all.

William F. Buckley has some other quotes that are real gems; here’s a sample:

I get satisfaction of three kinds. One is creating something, one is being paid for it and one is the feeling that I haven’t just been sitting on my ass all afternoon.

I won’t insult your intelligence by suggesting that you really believe what you just said.

Gotta salute Bolton, in light of the reflection that Newt had said he’d make Bolton Secretary of State. You always wonder whether a politician is looking out for himself or a crony when advocating a public policy. I don’t know whether a President Romney would do any personal good for Bolton. But it seems Bolton wasn’t swayed by the flattery and opportunity given by Newt. A man of integrity who places country above self, you think?

You know what? After watching all these clowns shoot themselves in the foot, I’m starting to look forward to a Romney candidacy. RINO or not, at least he hasn’t been (to borrow a word) zany or otherwise ludicrous. Running with Romney will be like getting into a car with a laid-back driver who’s slow but has never cracked up. With the world going mad before my eyes, I’d love to spend a few hours as a passenger in that car. I’m tired of watching the cab I was hoping to hire lurch into the ditch.

I’d only ride in Romney’s car if after slowing down he puts it in reverse. Hazardous road conditions ahead for us all, some say even a cliff!

I hope if Mitt gets in, he’ll reward Bolton with an important position in his administration for this. It would be make me feel just a wee bit safer if Bolton had anything to do with our national security.

A passenger in Romney’s car winds up in a carrier strapped to the roof. Just sayin’ 😉 I feel like that’s where we all are in this primary punt.

At this point, I am waiting for Liz Cheney to make an endorsement. My main question for Mittens , who appears will be the last man standing in this race, : Does he actually intend to run a campaign against BHO which has a hope of winning? After the sad and sorry performance by McCain in 2008, I don’t think it is wrong to be asking that.
My new motto is going to be, eating the elephant, one bite at a time! Pass the salt and pepper, please.

    • The GOP can’t run a effective campaign against the dems. Just look how they fumble and stumble in the house and senate. The GOP only excels at eating it’s own, and keeping good people down. Why on Earth does 25% of the party run everything and pick our leaders?? Well they have the machinery and the deep pockets to buy ad time and bribe pols for endorsements. (I just read an article that claims every new Romney endorsement from a sitting Pol was preceded by contributions from a Pro Mittens PAC. The GOP steals our money just like the liberal dems do. The corrupt medicare drug benefit is a prime example with it’s pay at what ever high price, no bid clauses. A new party can’t come soon enough for our beloved country.

As much as I admire John Bolton (he should have jumped into the presidential fray) this endorsement is still not enough to convince me to vote for Mittenz. Right now, I’m thinking about writing in Keith Richards. He’s really no worse than this group of Republicans running now. It’s almost as though they’re not even trying to win. Perhaps they are deliberately giving the Dumb Bastard a second term.

  7. Vee says:

I was under the impression that most Americans didn’t want to follow the GOP … John Bolton represents the GOP ESTABLISHMENT

Since the GOP ESTABLISHMENT wants Romney and looking back at what the GOP has chosen for us in the past

I guess it is safe to say that Romney would not be the choice for those who are tired of being sheep following the GOP

what is surprising is ANN COULTER is part of the GOP ESTABLISHMENT ? who knew
