Yes, it’s all about Palin (even though the book was about Urkel) and yes, as expected it’s awful. Boy, the machines were obviously terrified of her, and for good reason. It’s a shame how things turned out, and now only we can change this situation both politically and culturally. It’s a big job, but Americans who preceded us had even bigger ones. This trailer should inspire you to want to kick butt in an even bigger way.

    Utter ugliness.

I have to admit that Julianne Moore does a passable job of channeling Tina Fey. Except that while Tina Fey occasionally captured the buoyancy of Palin, instead Moore comes across with Tina Fey’s own unbecoming cynicism and misses the Palin behind the Fey.

Ed Harris is configured to look sort of like John McCain but his stiff character portrayal seems to lack some of McCain’s natural charisma.

The trailer portrays the characters as such whiny cynical opportunists, it more than negates the considerable physical resemblance. These characters just don’t seem to be the people they are portraying. Which makes the story uninteresting.

Sometimes I hate movies that tell you more about the actors than the characters. I like Moore, Harris, and Hanks in a non-political setting.

This is worse than awful. I wonder if Gov. Palin realizes how very afraid she made the left and the Dem/Republican machines? WE KNEW: that’s why we wanted her to run. People should dump HBO because of this total misrepresentation of a very successful woman, one of the most popular Governors in history. It will be interesting to see if John McCain condemns this ‘hit piece’; Megan McLame will love it, you know…I mean, really hehehehehe.

Julianne Moore does a terrible job of imitating Tina Fey imitating Sarah Palin. Hey Julianne I can see you career tanking from just about anywhere!!!!

Hollywood has run out of imagination. Tina Fey would of been a better choice for the part. Hate the whole idea. Boycott it.

OMG, my husband’s S.O.B. brother-in-law was an extra in this in Baltimore. He kept talking about going around and seeing all the stars at the “HBO movie” he was in.

I’m going to make him see stars the next time I see him, the stupid Liberal moron…

For some reason, that old classic song comes to mind:

“Behind every good woman lies a trail of men.”

Julieann Moore is gross. This just confirms what I already new about her.

So many more actors now added to my “No Watch” list.

Agree…enforce a “no fly zone” on this one.

The book was much more about Hillary, Obama and McCain than Sarah Palin. Yet looking at the trailer, it looks like they only focused on the portion that dealt with Palin. And, by the way, in the book she never uttered the phrase “I so don’t want to go back to Alaska”. This movie is a complete exploitation of the fact that Palin, from day one, has always been able to guarantee a huge audience. McCain exploited her and now HBO is doing the same. And the gullible audience won’t know this is pure fiction.

You know that Woody Harrelson plays that Woody Harrelson really well.

  13. FrankRemley says:

Julianne Moore makes Anne Heche look like Meryl Streep by comparison. How did this awful hack ever go anywhere in the acting profession? Oh, I know how, but this is a respectable board.

Someone needs to do a full length feature movie that showcases every filthy rumor said about every one of these filthy scum who made this movie. I am sick to death of the “elites” of this country and their cowardly fear and mockery of anything decent. It’s predictable, it’s adolescent, and it’s bloody boring.

When I was a “child” I was frightened of Patton because of George C Scott’s excellent acting. The acting may not have been an accurate representation of Sarah Palin in this movie, but the frightening factor was there. Now I love Patton. So, for those that still think like “children”, Be Frightened, BE VERY FRIGHTENED….

  16. otlset says:

Kick butt indeed. I’d like to kick the butts of the producers and writers of this “treatment” of the story. More liberal (and divisive) Hollywood propaganda, as if nobody can tell.

I’ve already given up cable in protest of trash like this. What else can I do in protest?

I’m half-tempted to send my well-viewed copy of “Band of Brothers” back to HBO studios with a nastygram letting them know exactly what I think.
