UPDATE: Video added!

Just a reminder that there is no Tammy Radio today or tomorrow due to my travel and speech, “The Importance of Firearms: Protecting Individual Power and Personal Freedom,” at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and their Tar Heel Rifle & Pistol club.

We will have the “Weekend Update” on Saturday for all the updates. If the folks at UNC tape the event I’ll make sure I get it linked.

Thanks everyone. I’ll check in again soon.

(Hey, Tammy, here is an old post of mine noting that Britain, not content with banning guns and knives, had moved on to ban dogs under the Dangerous Dogs Act of 1991. —Maynard)

I really hope your UNC speech will be recorded. I look forward to hearing it. How fortunate the students will be to meet you.

While Tammy’s away Sam will play–music.

I haven’t listened to Obama’s speech, but I don’t leap to condemn the concept of energy from algae. The general idea of ethanol is to turn plants into fuel; preferably plants that grow naturally and profusely without much effort or attention. We convert corn to ethanol because we’re good at it and have an infrastructure; the problem is that the effort involved in growing and processing the corn leaves us with little if any energy gain. There have been efforts to convert wood and non-foods into ethanol; thus far these have proved to be the usual wasteful boondoggles and payoffs to cronies (for example, the Range Fuels plant in Georgia went broke after absorbing more than $150 million of subsidies, having produced nothing).

I’m not saying Obama will get us any closer to algae fuel; I’m sure he’ll continue to squander and waste, because that’s all he’s good for. But the idea itself has great potential, so don’t let the jackass at the helm preclude reasonable discussion. The oceans are huge and alive; why not harvest the biomass for fuel? All we need is an infrastructure and an efficient process. It’s not going to happen soon, and Obama’s not going to help it in any practical way. However it’s a thing that may eventually come to pass, if only we look at it as a quest to build a profitable enterprise instead of yet another opportunity to suckle at Uncle Sam’s endless teat.

Remind them, Tammy, to hold with both hands and SQUEEZE the trigger. Keep it pointed in a safe direction, like at a terrorist. Know what’s behind your target, like, perhaps, another terrorist.

A chick with a gun and a microphone speaking at a rifle and pistol club. What could go wrong? Nothing, sounds like a hit!

  6. MaryVal says:

I always think that opening line is going to be, a chick with a gun and an attitude, lol!

    • otlset says:

Hahaha, yeah once I thought it might be “a chick with a gun and an itchy trigger finger”! lol! But then I have been watching a lot of Gunsmoke episodes lately.

oh i’m sooo happy that more & more people are getting to hear tammy speak all over the university campuses!…maybe it’ll counter all that liberal garbage they’ve been force fed all these years, open a few minds & give these kids more to think about …maybe set them on a conservative path thru life so we can have more hope that the youngest generations will help us in taking our country back!

  9. Timbo says:

Hope your home safe Tammy..I have no doubt the speeches went well..Hope the travel went smoothly..

Miss Tammy Bruce you need a Non-Mooch inspired Vacation.

Possibly sitting on a white sandy beach, sipping a colorful alcoholic drink while watching the sunset, for 7 days, just you, your phone, and reading material.

Welcome back, glad you had a safe trip. It was like a void not having those ‘daily’ Tams.
