Andrew Klavan and Bill Whittle have given us a wonderful MST3K-style reworking of this recent sample of Tom Hanks’s ordure — sorry, I mean oeuvre –, “The Road We’ve Traveled”.

The original (unimproved) video must be a very sorry sight. As is plainly evident, the “truths” alleged by Hanks bear little resemblance to reality, and they do not withstand even a small degree of scrutiny. And yet, I take Tom Hanks to be a sincere and decent guy, nor is he stupid (is he?). What’s gone wrong with the American mindset, that people like this become outspoken advocates of such lies and destructive nonsense? It’s as if there’s a complete disconnect from the real world when they put on their political hats.

Thanks for pointing us to this one Maynard. TAMs love a well-crafted MST3K commentary.

Terrific Bill & Andrew’s Excellent Adventure! I’m getting hooked on these. I can’t watch another Tom Hanks movie. I liked MST3K, Toy Story & even a little Bosom Buddies, but this BO flick is a BIG flop. I’ll wait for the comic book! Oh wait …

Intolerably unwatchable without the commentary from Klavan and Whittle! Made me “Rage at the Machine” so to speak.
Perhaps Tom Hanks has the same type of dementia as Jimmy Carter.

To me, the most disturbing image of the entire astonishing, counterfactual, political propaganda video:

Hillary Clinton in ecstasy, looking like she has met The Messiah.

The current administration has not improved our situation, people like Hanks and others at high levels in their socio/political grouping have insulated themselves from the inflammation they’re invoking. They might even benefit in some way.

Indeed the power-hungry politicians benefit, in that the worse things get, the louder the calls are for a central authority to take charge. Thus we’re trapped in a vicious circle of decline. Barack Obama is the disease for which he claims to be the cure.

Just wondering: When Hanks read the script, was he medicated? drunk? or just drunk on Obama-love?

I hope Obummer and Tom Hanks get the Razzie Award for “Worst On Screen Couple”.

My dad and I LOVE Band of Brothers. We’ve watched the series so many times we could quote it from beginning to end (complete with soundtrack). When Tom Hanks narrated this ridiculous video, however, we were both of half a mind to send our sets back to Hanks and beg him not to ever claim to support the military again.
