Breaking news via Fox News, Ann Romney will speak on Tuesday. Susana Martinez will speak on Wednesday.

UPDATE from Tammy: This is great news obviously. Also, here is the complete C-SPAN RNC convention schedule. It does not appear that they have Ann Romney’s scheduled yet into Tuesday, but keep an eye on their listing. TAM Chat will be open during the significant speeches. It appears Mrs. Romney will open Tuesday, to be followed by Gov. Chris Christie. As soon as I decide when TAM Chat will be live I’ll provide that listing here this weekend.

Great! I have been tweeting my heart out, based on Tammy’s comments, for this change. This is awesome.

Off topic here, but I just noted this Fox article, “Complaints cause atheist-funded billboards in North Carolina to come down”.

American Atheists and Adams Outdoor Advertising are reportedly removing two Charlotte billboards blasting Christianity and Mormonism following an outpouring of complaints and threats.

The Bradenton Herald report that the billboards, which targeted the faiths of President Barack Obama and Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, went up two weeks ago and were intended to be displayed for the duration of the national conventions…

I’ve heard similar reports before regarding billboards of different subject matter. For example, a few years ago, I recall a billboard going up, I think, in California near the Arizona border that read: “Welcome to California, the illegal alien state”. Protests forced this to be removed.

There’s something to be said for civility, for not stoking the fires in a divisive way. On the other hand, I have periodic fantasies of putting up my own billboard. Obviously whatever I’d say would be out of step; otherwise there would be no point in saying it.

Back to the current news item…I don’t agree with the message of the atheists’ billboard, but it certainly doesn’t bother me to the extent that I’d call for its removal.

What is, or should be, the guiding rule here? I’m not sure.

  3. […] As Tammy Bruce says: If Obama were just incompetent, some of his decisions would be good for us. NONE of them are, and all seem rooted in the anti-colonial attitude espoused by Barak Obama Sr. and embraced by his son. Add an extra layer of abandonment by both parents, and we are all being punished. […]
