Here’s a snippet of Obama’s statement via TheRightNewz. He sounds bored, and even more than that–detached and irritated as one would having to say things he doesn’t believe. And make a special note of this: Obama essentially blames the attacks on us, as our fault, with “Our country is only as strong as the character of our people.” Whether that was conscious or subconscious, I don’t know, but the message is, this is only happening because the American people have no real character.

Compare this outrage to Romney statement. It was well done. The American people have a distinctively clear choice in November–suicide w Obama or recovery with Romney.

That quote about we’re only as strong as our character – not only is it a shut up and don’t say anything directive, but it strikes badly because it is said by someone who has no upstanding moral character.

In the entertainment world, Obama’s statement falls under the category of what they call “phoning it in”. Something’s wrong with him.

Contrast this to the passionate delivery of “You didn’t build that!”

A word of advice to Obama, attributed to Glenn Reynolds: “To stiffen your spine, imagine these were Tea Partiers instead of Islamic fundamentalists who hate America and all it stands for.”

That’s the heart of the thing. Obama’s passions rise when he launches into a diatribe against the heartland. That’s when the moral outrage fly trippingly off his tongue. But at the emotional level, he finds common ground with the angry, murderous foreign poobahs and mobs. Moments like this put him in a state of internal dissonance, and he shuts down.

What can we expect from a President who skips intel briefings.

This would be the 11th year since 9/11/01. Looks like the people who struck then are patient, determined and methodical. And unimpressed by our leaders drinking and bowing and lying to their own citizens. As a last resort we could make a bunch of bobble heads of the President in bowing position, send them to the mid east and hope they start to like us.

So where is the Mohammad movie that the Islamists found so outrageous?

This Breitbart article reports: “The video was uploaded on July 2 by a YouTube user going by the name Sam Bacile. After sitting dormant and largely unwatched for two months, it was dubbed into Arabic and excerpts gained airplay on TV networks in Egypt, enraging ultraconservative viewers.”

I’m peeking at YouTube, but there are some fakes and copycats and clowns and wannabes. I haven’t found the original. This video might possibly be a re-post. Some parts aren’t as deadly serious as you might expect; segments have more of a bantering tone. Not quite like Monty Python’s The Life of Bryan, but something in that direction. (You remember how The Life of Bryan triggered a series of riots by Christians around the world, with thousands dead and millions in property damage? Neither do I.)

If this video isn’t the one, then someone please post a link to the real thing. Just so we’ll have some accurate background.

I didn’t pick up at all that Obama was saying the attack happened because of us. If you listen to Clinton’s comments about the death of Amb. Chris Stevens, what he said might make more sense. He seemed to echo her comments where she said that we need more people like Stevens, who are knowledgeable, committed, and care about our relationship with the Middle Eastern region.

Kirsten Powers defends Romney’s statement. She has relatives who are Coptic Christian and has traveled extensively in Egypt. Oh, and Keith Olbermann is upset with Kirsten for defending Romney.

Another great NRO article recanting experience with Shiite uprising and the importance of strength. Affirms that appeasement doesn’t work.
