I’m flashing back to Dan Rather and that ridiculous George Bush memo, which Rather asserted was genuine for, what was it?, more than a week. I never understood that. Anybody old enough to have been around during the era — and of course Rather was — knew that typewritten documents of the day were not proportionally spaced. In other words, the thing was so crude that one must assume it was created as a goof, rather than with intent to deceive. And yet, these people say stuff like this, and repeat it. What’s wrong? Does truth, obvious truth, mean nothing?

Oh, yeah, and that Morning Joe clip, where they use a caption to tell you that you didn’t hear what you heard. What a world!
