Shifra’s Reflections on the Election
by Shifra on November 25, 2012**A Post by Shifra** TAM VitadMD wrote the following on FaceBook, and she posted it on the TAMWire. She has graciously consented to allow me to reprint it here. My response follows: A long 10 days of darkness and cold due to destructive wind, rain, and snow produced a certain kind of anxiety and frustration all too familiar living in Westchester, NY. As depressing as that was, it paled in comparison to an even more foreboding darkness of spirit after the disaster of Election Day 2012. That night, in an emotionally crushing but not entirely surprising manner, our electoral resistance suffered a severe setback – resistance to the occupation (“Occupy Wall Street” has officially become “Occupy America”), to the “revengers”...

Excellent! Egyptians Torch Muslim Brotherhood Hdqtrs After Morsi Power-Grab
by Tammy on November 23, 2012Tyrants can only rule when the people allow them. Let’s hope the Egyptians have had enough. Love this video==> Not only tearing aprt the outside, they got inside and started throwing stuff out the windows. Fabulous! GO EGYPTIANS! Via Telegraph: President Morsi’s decree puts his decisions above legal challenge until a new parliament is elected, which has caused fury amongst his opponents who have accused him of being the new Hosni Mubarak and hijacking the revolution. Demonstrators burned down part of the headquarters of the Brotherhood’s political front, the Freedom and Justice Party, in Alexandria and there were also protests in other cities.Offices were ransacked as books and chairs were burned in the streets. On Being Grateful. Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
by Tammy on November 22, 2012I hope you’re all having a wonderful day. We’re a group that is always aware of the importance of being grateful, but it is during this season, especially, when things calm down a little bit, giving us a chance to reflect even more on the remarkable gifts we have. It is our passion and commitment that can make certain times even more difficult, like the last 4 years and the election, as one example! At the same time, it is difficult times that make that commitment even more important. Our purpose exists for times like these. So when I wake up, on Thanksgiving and every day, I’m grateful I wake u in the United States, emerging into a world still...

Leathernecks
by Pat_S on November 19, 2012Libs may think twice about cutting the defense budget when they hear about this. Forget about the Halls of Montezuma and, for sure, the shores of Tripoli. What better use of a few good men and women than babysitting turtles? There are about 500 “threatened” tortoises living in the Mojave Desert. The Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms is engaged in The Desert Tortoise Head-Start Facility project to protect the young tortoises from predators. It’s a $100,000 a year program funded by the Defense Department. Marines protecting threatened desert tortoises The slow-growing tortoises may need a year or more before they’re big enough to be released into the desert. … The tortoise is threatened by development, off-road...

Homeland Security Promoting Welfare to New Immigrants in Government ‘Welcome’ Materials
by Tammy on November 19, 2012Forget about the American Dream, with Obama it’s all about hopeless dependence. Obama’s agenda has always involved getting more and more people reliant on “government,” destroying this country, and people’s lives, in the process. Via Daily Caller. Ask not what you can do for your country, but what your new country can do for you. “Welcome to USA.gov,” a website maintained by the Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), bills itself as the “primary gateway for new immigrants to find basic information on how to settle in the United States” — featuring a prominent section for new immigrants about how to access government benefits. “Depending on your immigration status, length of time in the United States,...

I’ll Be On Fox News Today At About 445pm ET
by Tammy on November 18, 2012We’ll be discussing whether FEMA did a good job responding to the Sandy storm crisis. The answer to that would be, of course, no. This proves, once again, that big, bloated, disconnected government truly makes everything worse. It makes promises on which people rely, and then never delivers. Common sense for us Independent Conservatives. Hope you can tune in. Related Links: It’s interesting how with the continued failure of FEMA during Sandy, under Obama the press casts it as having done a great job despite its “limitations.” Under Bush it was abject failure. Heh. WaPo: In Sandy’s wake, recovery remains a frustrating fight And as usual, the bureaucracy judges its response based on how much money they’re spending. Click through...
